Peking : Mutianyu Great Wall Sesselbahn Up & Down oder Rodelbahn Down

My wife and I booked this tour through Tripadvisor for September 9th. We were very excited to visit the Great Wall and in all of our research we decided to visit the Mutianyu section of the wall which is very accessible from Beijing. We booked a private tour with round trip transportation, entrance tickets for all the attractions and an English-speaking guide. Our guide, Bruce Wei was excellent. He reached out to us via Whatsapp the evening before our tour to confirm the details and the pickup time. On the day of the tour Bruce arrived at our hotel lobby precisely at 7:00 AM and led us outside to our private minivan and introduced us to our driver Mr. Xu. We hopped into the spacious van where Mr. Xu had bottled water waiting for us and off we went. Bruce explained to us that it would take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Mutianyu from Beijing. The drive was pleasant and smooth. Bruce was very informative on the ride up, explaining the different regions throughout China as well as some of the cultural differences throughout the country. Once we arrived at the Mutianyu area, Mr. Xu dropped us off and Bruce escorted us to the shuttles that bring you up to the visitors center which is included and only takes about 5 minutes. Bruce recommended we use the toilets before headed up which we did. Bruce already had our tickets printed out which meant that we did not have to wait in a que and we were able to go directly to the chairlift which we had selected as our way to get up to the wall. Being atop of the Great Wall is an amazing experience and the views of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. Bruce was great, he allowed us to move at our own pace so we really got to appreciate the wonder of the world. Bruce also recommended several spots to capture good photos and also took several photos of us touring our tour. Bruce gave us some good history behind the construction of the wall and the different dynasties involved in building the various sections. After we had our fill of sightseeing and taking photos, Bruce brought us to an area just adjacent to the wall where you can purchase beverages and snacks so we enjoyed an ice-cold beer as we cooled off in the shade. Next we selected the option to take the toboggan sled back down to the visitor center. Again, Bruce had the tickets printed out already so we did not have to que in line. I would highly recommend taking the toboggan sled, what an amazing experience sliding down the hillside along the base of the wall was such a fun time. Once we made it down to the visitor center Bruce gave us time to use the toilets and also showed us on of the markets to get some souvenir’s. We then boarded the shuttle back down to the based where Mr. Xu was waiting for us with cold water and the air condition in the minivan. We made the smooth ride back to Beijing where we said goodby to Bruce and Mr. Xu. Overall I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Beijing area looking to tour the Great Wall. It was truly an unforgettable experience that we will remember for the forever. Thank you Bruce and Mr. Xu.

We had a great experience! The private car was very comfortable, and our guide Jeffrey handled all the tickets and logistics, making the day easy and stress-free. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to explore the Great Wall, take photos, and enjoy it at our own pace.

We had an excellent day seeing the Great Wall of China today. our tour guide was Wendy and she was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and had heaps of energy to keep everyone on the tour engaged. would definitely recommend.

The guide (Wendy) was great, preliminary communication regarding the meeting place and check-ups on the morning to make sure everyone was set to make the journey. On the trip she provided energy and atmosphere, sharing some local knowledge about Beijing and the Great Wall, and handled all logistics smoothly, allowing us all some free time at the end before jumping on the bus back to the city. Overall, great value for money, with admission, chairlift/toboggan included.
