Aarati (Arati) Pooja im Pashupatinath Tempel ist ein außergewöhnliches kulturelles Erlebnis, das man in Kathmandu erleben kann. Diese Veranstaltung findet jeden Abend um 18:00 - 19:00 Uhr statt und dauert je nach Saison eine Stunde. Unser Fortgeschrittener und Fahrer wird Sie von 16:30 bis 17:30 Uhr in Ihrem Hotel treffen, um Sie zu diesem faszinierenden Event zu bringen. Neben Arati und Pashupatinath-Tempel umfasst die Tour die Beobachtung der Einäscherungszeremonie am Ufer des heiligen Bagmati-Flusses und die Besichtigung weiterer Denkmäler in der Umgebung. Die Aarati Pooja ist im Grunde eine Tagesabschlusszeremonie, die Licht, Blumen, Weihrauch und andere Gegenstände an Lord Shiva, dem der Tempel gewidmet ist, anbietet. Die Zeremonie wird von hinduistischen Bramhin-Priestern inmitten der Live-Bhajana (Andachtslieder) geleitet, denen sich Hunderte von Anhängern anschließen. A spectacular end to the day, a juxtaposition of grief and joy, merging a closing ceremony with funeral pyres. At points I was moved. My guide, Mani, looked after us very well and made sure we got a prime spot.
This place is an unique experience. Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu is a sacred Hindu site where cremations occur on the banks of the Bagmati River, a crucial ritual for releasing souls to their next life, seen as a spiritual transition, not an end. Families bring bodies for final rites, covering them, and the ashes are swept towards the sacred river, which is believed to guide souls. Thanks to Three Juwels Adventure it was perfect.
Very unique experience-well done and should not be missed. Please read up on the funeral practices of Hindus so you will not be surprised but will understand what is happening.
I found this offering to be incredibly memorable and unique. It’s not often you get to witness funeral ceremonies from other cultures and religions you are not a part of. Amber was an excellent guide and explained everything and I felt I learned a lot about Hinduism in Nepal from watching and listening to the ceremony. Definitely a good experience.
