Pamir Highway in 5 Tagen von Duschanbe nach Osch

We had 10 great days on the Pamir Highway. Many thanks to our driver Umed, who skilfully navigated us through the most beautiful surroundings and helped us everywhere he could.

I had an awesome experience visiting the iskanderkul lake. The tour guide is laid back, chill, and easy to work with. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time. Very knowledgeable of the history of Tajikistan. Take the tour you will have no regrets.

I did the Pamir highway from Dushanbe to Khorugh only with DiscoveryStan (Oriz on first day, and then Ali as the guide and Hamid as the driver on the gruelling drive to Khorugh and back for four days). I must say that all of them are generous and highly knowledgeable and personable guides and rivers. I learnt so much about the Ismaili Shiite community that dominate the Pamir highlands, and our long drive was punctuated with many memorable conversations on the history, religion, sociology and economy and just about everything about the region. A visit to Khorugh is a must to understand the people and even the influence of the Aga Khan and the “Great Game” between the Russians and British that carved out the regions of influence. Ali in particular was an amazing source of accurate, unbiased knowledge. The drive is hard but achievable in their sturdy 4X4. The trip opened up the region to me in a way that nothing else could have. Driving along the Afghan border for two days also gave me insights on the Tajik people living on both sides.

Been everywhere in Tajikistan almost 4 years with Oriz and his wonderful team. Our previous trip was to Pamir, great experience and very authentic place to explore. Thank you for always taking care of us!

Found them from my Google search when I was planning my trip to Tajikistan. Oriz was very responsive and overall a pleasant guy to chat with. Itinerary was fairly priced and packaged, but be ready for a lot of driving at far distance with a fair amount of off roading. Shout out to my driver/guide Hokim and Bob who was with me during my 5 days trip, they're both excellent driver and friendly person. I'm planning another central Asia trip and will be in touch with them again. Thank you for the service. ❤️

I had the privilege to enjoy a 25 day trip around Tadjikistan with Oriz from Explore Pamir as a guide. We visited the Fann mountains, drove through the Pamir and had several walks in this beautiful country. I travelled with quite a large group which doesn’t make a life’s guide easy but Oriz succeeded quite well! The wellbeing of the members of the group was very important to him. I appreciated his knowledge of the country and the way of life in the different regions. And, not to forget, I enjoyed his humour! We also had some very interesting discussions about the country, immigration and several other topics. He was certainly an added value for our trip!

We have just returned from our first trip after this Pandemic. We had fantastic trip in Tajikistan organised by EP. We had actually booked to travel in 2020 but due to Pandemic had to cancel. Explore Pamir refunded us for the trip with no problems, we than decided to travel to Tajikistanin July 2022and immediatly contacted EP. again me received excelent service and had a fantastic trip. our driver and guide were fabulous, we had such a fun trip with them. Thankyou EP making this trip so special for us.

Last year we drove with Oriz from Dushanbe through the Wakhan corridor to the Kyrgyz border. Oriz has organized this trip perfectly for us. starting from the transportation, the sights, the accommodation to the evening supply of vodka, the trip left nothing to be desired. Since we were so enthusiastic about Tajikistan, not least because of the excellent organization of Oriz, we are already planning the next trip with him next year.
