Once you reach the top, there are hiking trails, a dining area, and a gift shop. The tram is quick, rotates, but feels stable. I had a good time.

I am so glad we booked this adventure! Wow, the trip up, the views along the way, the shopping, eating, and activities at the top, which wound up being a winter wonderland! I cannot emphasize to you enough how essential it is to any trip to the area to add this to your itinerary! There are several opportunities for dining at the top, between fast food, better casual, and fine dining. We chose the latter, and it was par excellence! Was not expecting that! Plan for this to be an adventure that takes the majority of your day, certainly do not rush it, and I don’t care if you are sweating down at the bottom of the mountain, bring a coat and gloves for the top! If you don’t, you will wind up purchasing them, which are readily available at the gift store because so many come unprepared. The views are fantabulous, and we capped off the evening on the way back down after sunset, counting every star in the sky, and all of us in the gondola, singing songs together! We made some fabulous memories on this adventure.

We booked our tickets directly with the operator, which made it easier to come a day EARLIER AND AT A DIFFERENT TIME!!! It was a bit on the COOLER SIDE, foggy with a bit of light rain. It made for a MEMORABLE DAY, for sure. We were a few years ago, when it was HOT, HOT, HOT. I like it hot, but I’m a newly discovered fan of “THE DRIZZLE.”

One of the highlights of our Palm Springs trip. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway was a great experience from start to finish. The swinging as we passed each tower going up was awesome and made the ride even more fun. The views from the top were incredible, and there are good places to eat once you get up there. On the way back down, the tram operator played great music, which made the ride even better. It’s a great way to spend 2–3 hours while visiting Palm Springs. Definitely worth doing.

I dont quite share all those positive reviews. You pay almost USD 40 to be pressed into a gondola with at least another 50 people like the tuna in a can, you might not even get a window spot (no seats), the cabin has an unpleasant odor and the windows are so dirty, that you can not see anything when the sun hits the glass. The bottom of the gondola starts turning, while the frame is not. That is quite awkward as there is nothing to hold on to with the bottom moving and the walls are not. Some passengers didnt quite get it and you ended up bumping into them as they kept holding onto the same spot of the frame while the bottom was moving along. No value for money.

Enjoy the hikes- it is really beautiful at the top; find a quiet spot and just take in the beauty of nature;

The trails are easy to navigate even for non hikers. The views are breathtaking and make sure you stop by the park ranger office for a map.

We went today, and while it was 105° in Palm Desert, it was a beautiful 61° at the top of the mountain! The tram ride itself is thrilling and the views are incredible. Once at the top, be sure to take the path down to the forest floor. It’s absolutely beautiful—the smell of the pine trees, the cool mountain air, and the sound of the birds make you feel like you’re in a completely different place. We spent some time leisurely walking through the forest and loved every minute of it. There are more strenuous hiking trails if you’re looking for more of an adventure, but as two seniors in good shape, we found the easier trails perfect for us. Just keep in mind that the walk back up from the forest floor is a little strenuous, so take your time. What a wonderful way to escape the Palm Springs heat for a few hours. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip and something I would highly recommend!
