Bei einem Stadtrundgang mit Ihrem Fachkundiger Tourleiter sehen Sie das Beste, was Cambridge zu bieten hat. Danach geht es hinüber nach Oxford, der "Stadt der Träumenden Türme", deren stille Innenhöfe und elegante, würdige Gebäude Generationen von Gelehrten (darunter Bill Clinton in den 1970er Jahren) und Schriftstellern inspiriert haben, darunter Lewis Carroll, der hier "Alice im Wunderland" schrieb.

Unser nächster Halt ist Oxford, auch bekannt als The City of Dreaming Spires. Der Fluss Cam (/ ˈkæm /) ist der Hauptfluss, der durch Cambridge im Osten Englands fließt. Nachdem es Cambridge verlassen hat, fließt es nördlich und östlich in die Große Ouse südlich von Ely bei Pope's Corner. Die Great Ouse verbindet die Cam bei King's Lynn mit der Nordsee: Die Gesamtentfernung von Cambridge zum Meer beträgt 64 km und ist für Punts, kleine Boote und Ruderfahrzeuge schiffbar.
Die Bodleian Library ist die Hauptforschungsbibliothek der Universität Oxford und eine der ältesten Bibliotheken in Europa. Mit über 12 Millionen Objekten ist es nach der British Library die zweitgrößte Bibliothek in Großbritannien.
Im Christ Church College besuchen Sie eines der renommiertesten Colleges der Universität. Die 1532 von Heinrich VIII. gegründete Christ Church fungiert auch als kleinste Kathedrale Großbritanniens. Seine schöne Architektur hat es in Filmen wie Harry Potter und Der goldene Kompass gezeigt, während es auch Repliken auf der ganzen Welt inspiriert hat. Der berühmte Speisesaal wurde beispielsweise in der Cornell University & der University of Chicago reproduziert. Der Speisesaal in allen Harry Potter Filmen ist dem Christchurch Speisesaal nachempfunden!
Wenn wir Oxford verlassen, passieren wir die Chilterns, ein Gebiet von herausragender natürlicher Schönheit. Die Tour endet vor dem Bahnhof London Victoria, der zentral liegt und leicht mit der nationalen Bahn und der U-Bahn erreichbar ist. Er wird von den Victoria-, District- und Circle Lines bedient und befindet sich in der Travel Zone 1.

We had a bad day before the day of the tour. Our guide and driver Cameron and Sunil turned it around with a perfect tour yet from London, with our 1-day Cambridge and Oxford tour. Cameron is hilarious yet knowledgeable. He entertained the whole lot 14 of us with jokes and interesting facts along the way, yet with much knowledge within. We really enjoyed his company throughout the day. Sunil, on the other hand, is a careful and composed driver, who made our road trip smooth as silk. While travelling from one location to another which typically took 1-2 hours, we always had good rest and felt fresh before we started our next location. Highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough, with duo Cameron (not Diaz unfortunately) and Sunil. Kudos and keep it up!

The tour was very good mainly by the guide Cameron and the driver Sunil. The guide explained the history of the places.

Cameron is amazing! He knows a lot of history and English culture. He even explained topics from other tours we took. Very cheerful and caring about the whole group. Sunil super sharp and nice.

Mariya was a knowledgeable and an excellent guide. Both Oxford and Cambridge are large and very crowded. It would be helpful to have a print map with the meeting place clearly marked as I was almost left on both campuses.

I went on the tour for Cambridge and Oxford with the tour guide Cameron and the driver Abdi. Right from the start I thought the tour was going to be great because of the vibe and personality of the tour guide. Cameron was very acessible and knowledgeable, I loved the facts that he knew, some off the history like the inspiration for Chronicles of Narnia. Also, the personality and the jokes helped to make the day smoother and enjoyable.
