Ihr Guide informiert Sie ausführlich über die amerikanische Rangers-Mission und erklärt Ihnen die faszinierenden Überreste der vielen deutschen Bunker, die wir gemeinsam sehen werden. Sie haben dann ca. 25 Minuten Zeit, um die Gegend auf eigene Faust zu erkunden.
Der Führer führt Sie auf den unglaublichen amerikanischen Friedhof und erklärt viele wichtige Fakten darüber, wann er gebaut wurde, warum er sich dort befindet, wo er sich befindet, und viele Geschichten von Männern und Frauen, die hier begraben sind. Sie haben ca. 30 Minuten Zeit, um die Gegend auf eigene Faust zu erkunden.
Sie erhalten einen guten Überblick über die Strandlandungen, die am 6. Juni 1944 am Omaha Beach stattfanden. Danach haben Sie etwa 15 Minuten Zeit, um auf dem Sand zu laufen (abhängig von den Gezeiten), auf dem die amerikanischen Streitkräfte gelandet sind D-Day.

Excellent tour. It was brief for those that unfortunately cannot spend more than 1/2 day. It was a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Paris and Charles had us for about 4 1/2 hours. He is an excellent guide and knows a lot of history. We are so glad we came. We got an air-conditioned van and went to Long Sur Mer (point du Hoc was closed), then we went to Omaha Beach to the American cemetery. Charles even dropped us off at the train station.

Marine was our tour guide and she was wonderful. We learned so much about D-Day and WWII and the impact on the area. The van was comfortable and we had a little time in each location to explore. I would highly recommend this if you have a half day in Bayeux.

We did this tour with Marine Cotet on Friday, May 29, 2026. We had a group of 6. Marine picked us up at Place de Quebec. We went to Pointe du Hoc, then drove along Omaha Beach to the American Cemetery, where we witnessed a double-flag lowering at 4pm. Then, we went back to Omaha Beach, Dog Sector, at the National Guard Memorial. My wife's father took part in the D-Day invasion, going ashore at Utah Beach on day 2, and fighting through the hedgerows with the 82nd Airborne. Marine knew all of this, because she had researched his unit movements based on information we provided when we booked the tour. The National Guard Memorial was important to us, because I had several friends from Bedford, VA (the Bedford Boys) while in college. Marine was an excellent guide.

Irene was a wonderful knowledgeable guide. We were also lucky that we had arrived only a few days before D Day celebrations and so many people were dressed in military uniforms , also rehearsal of paratroopers parachuting from their planes.
