Dieser Ort war ein bedeutendes panhellenisches religiöses Heiligtum des antiken Griechenlands, wo während der gesamten klassischen Antike, vom 8. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis zum 4. Jahrhundert n. Chr., alle vier Jahre die antiken Olympischen Spiele ausgetragen wurden.
Das Archäologische Museum von Olympia ist eines der wichtigsten Museen Griechenlands und befindet sich in Olympia. Das Museum beherbergt Fundstücke aus der Umgebung, darunter dem Austragungsort der antiken Olympischen Spiele. Die Sammlung umfasst Objekte, die in der Region von der Vorgeschichte bis zur Zeit der römischen Herrschaft hergestellt und verwendet wurden. Die wichtigsten Stücke des Museums sind Hermes und der Dionysos-Kind (Praxiteles zugeschrieben), einige Objekte aus dem Tempel des Zeus und die Nike des Paionios.
Olympia Land Estate ist ein Familienweingut, das Anfang der 2000er Jahre mit der Produktion kleiner Mengen Qualitätsweine begann und seit 2008 das moderne Weingut des Anwesens aufbaut. In Fortsetzung der Familientradition an einem gesegneten und heiligen Ort, Olympia, der Wiege der Kultur und des olympischen Ideals.

This was the perfect tour. Johanna picked us at the end of the promenade next to the ship. She had a very lovely bus for us driven by George (a 20 person bus just for the 3 of us). She explained everything about the area and the original Olympic City on the journey. She had photos of the original and current so we could compare. There was a museum filled with items that were excavated from the area and the ruins of the buildings were a short walk from there. It was amazing. Johanna did a great job explaining everything. We then rejoined the bus and drove to a small family run winery for a wine tasting with snacks and homemade jams and olive oil. Everything was so good we bought 4 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of jam and a can of olive oil. We sat at a table under a tree right next to the grape vines. It was a magical day. I would definitely do this trip again. There is so much to see. I highly recommend Johanna and would use her again when I am back in this area.

Great tour, our driver was so friendly and wouldn't do enough for us. We spent some time at the Olympia site which was really enjoyable. The winery we visited was family run and it was great to see the traditional methods of production still being used. The wine tasting was amazing and they served some really tasty platters also. We left with several bottles !! Would throughly recommend this tour.

Great tour to Olympia. Really helpful and friendly driver nothing was too much trouble for him, really looked after us. The trip to the winery was amazing, a family run winery with some amazing wines and delicious platters served with the wine. A fantastic experience would throughly recommend

Dora was a great tour guide, she met us as soon as we got off of our cruise with our name on the board so it was super easy to find her. We had a private tour so it was just my husband & I which was great! I do wish she had come into the Olympia museum with us to describe what we were looking at. Then we went to the winery which was super great & for a little tour around there. It would have been nice to have some time in the little town of Olympia, but on our way back she did let us off at the main strip with shops & restaurants which was an easy walk back to the cruise port. We overall had a great time & experience & would highly recommend to anyone traveling here!
