Am Utah Beach betreten Sie einen echten Deutschen Bunker, der heute ein Weltklassemuseum ist. Hier trafen amerikanische Stiefel am 6. Juni 1944 zum ersten Mal auf Französischen Sand. Im Inneren finden Sie einen von nur noch sechs B - 26 Bombern und hören Geschichten von den Soldaten, die die Geschichte veränderten.
Nach einem leichten Mittagessen ist es Zeit für die nächste Aktivität – die Erklimmung der 100 Fuß hohen Klippen, um historische Einschlagkrater und Betonbunker zu entdecken, die noch immer vom Konflikt gezeichnet sind. Alliierte Ranger erklommen diese schieren Felswände unter intensivem feindlichem Feuer, um die Deutschen Stellungen zum Schweigen zu bringen. Steht man hier, Wind im Gesicht, wird der Mut dieser Soldaten wahrhaft lebendig.
Unterhalb des Bluffs liegt Omaha Beach, wo die Wellen jetzt leise auf dem Sand plätschern, der die heftigsten Kämpfe des D-Day sah. Darüber erstrecken sich weiße Kreuze über einen gepflegten Rasen. Daniel led a great day long tour through history. I noticed some of the other tour buses had water for their customers, but this was a good value. I wish our visit to Utah Beach was longer
