Al Khor ist eine Küstenstadt im Norden von Katar und liegt 50 Kilometer nördlich der Hauptstadt Doha. Gilt als eine der größten Städte Katars. Al Khor ist die Heimat vieler Mitarbeiter der Ölindustrie, da es in der Nähe der nördlichen Öl- und Erdgasfelder von Katar und der Industriestadt Ras Laffan liegt. Es ist einer der vorgeschlagenen Austragungsorte für die Katar-Weltmeisterschaft 2022.
Die Purple Island, auch bekannt als Al Khor Island, ist ein wunderschöner Ort in Al Khor, etwa eine Autostunde von Doha entfernt. Es ist eine kleine Insel, die durch einen schmalen Pfad mit dem Festland verbunden ist, der an verschiedenen Stellen unterbrochen wird, damit das Wasser in Richtung des Mangrovenwaldes fließen kann.
Al Thakhira ist eine Stadt an der Küste der Gemeinde Al Khor in Katar, etwa 7 Kilometer nordöstlich der Stadt Al Khor und 60 Kilometer von der Hauptstadt Doha entfernt. Es ist eng mit der Stadt Al Khor verbunden, die beide vom Stamm der Al Muhannadi gegründet wurden. Wie andere Küstensiedlungen in der Region waren die Einwohner in der Vergangenheit ausschließlich auf das Perlen und das Fischen von Nahrungsmitteln angewiesen
Al zubara, auch bekannt als Fort Zubara (h), ist eine historische katarische Militärfestung, die 1938 unter der Aufsicht von Scheich Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani erbaut wurde.

It's a great time to see the real side of the country.
Excellent trip. Our driver and tour guide Junaidd was courteous and respectful. I was travelling with my elderly Mother and niece and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the sites we visited. Enjoyed this experience immensely and would highly recommend! Thank you Junaidd!
Great trip to see Qatar! Javid took us to three sites ( a fishing area/market for processing fresh fish, a mangrove swamp and purple island and then the Al Zubarah fortress replica) . This provides a fairly thorough coverage of the key attractions of Qatar that are not in Doha. He also provided us with chilled water bottles during the trip and took great pictures of us at different locations!

Great North Qatar tour, visiting the fish market, mangroves and the old fort. Junaidd was a brilliant guide, punctual, informative and very cheerful. Recommended.
Our guide Junaid was great, we got to know much more about Qatar and its life and history. Tour itself was also nice, with Mangrove forest as a highlight. Rest of the places (fish market and fortress) were nothing that special but stilll worth to visit if you are already here.
We had an outstanding experience going with this tour. Our guide/driver Junaid was friendly, punctual, and very knowledgeable on the culture and history of Qatar. The selection of sights of interest was also great to fit in half a day.
