1. Weben von Seggenmatten: Der Dorfweg führt uns zum Haus einer Familie, die Matten aus Seggen webt, die in der Umgebung reichlich wachsen. 2. Inspirierendes Pagodenwaisenhaus: Hier werden über 160 verlassene, verwaiste oder Straßenkinder untergebracht und betreut. Die Kinder des Waisenhauses werden von einer Gruppe buddhistischer Nonnen und Freiwilligen betreut. Ihr Ziel ist es, den Kindern ein sicheres und fürsorgliches Umfeld zu bieten, das ihr Unglück lindert und ihrem Leben mehr Sinn und Sinn verleiht. Als private Organisation versucht das Waisenhaus, seinen Kindern Nahrung, Unterkunft, Gesundheit und Bildung zu bieten. 3. Riesige Amitabha-Buddha-Statue in einer Höhe von 68 Metern sowie atemberaubende Panoramen über die Reisfelder dahinter. 4. This is the real deal for experiencing this part of the country's beauty, people, and food. A short ride to a wooden boat where we cruised up the beautiful and interesting Cai River to connect with a tri-wheel taxi (more like open-air cart which was fun) stopping to see birds of all types and then to the Loc Tho pagoda and neighboring school for disadvantaged children who seem happy and well cared for. Then to see sedge weaving with beautiful mats of different sizes (available for purchase at very reasonable prices). Then on to lunch at Chopsticks on the river for wonderful chicken, mackerel, shrimp and mixed dishes where we enjoyed talking with the owner. Then return river trip and visit to the Hindu Ponagar temple, and then tea back in town. All along the way Pham gave interesting summaries and insights into what we were seeing. This is the real deal, off the beaten path, where you also feel totally comfortable with Pham as guide.
