Newport Trolley Tour - Viking Scenic Übersicht

Perfect way to see beautiful Newport and hear about its history. The guide/driver made the trip worth the money

Allow time to park then walk to the area where red Viking trolleys are, get there a bit early. Wonderful tour guide Larry, gave interesting facts. It was a great overview especially if you’ve never been here! Absolutely don’t miss!

The tour guide Ray was EXCELLENT! He was very knowledgeable about the historical details of Newport and kept us entertained the entire 90 minute ride. The trolley was clean and comfortable and the ride was smooth. I would definitely recommend this opportunity to see different areas of Newport while also enjoying the nice ride and historical info.

Ray was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the area. He gave us quite a bit of history. We enjoyed learning about the background and owners of a number of the homes we passed. It rounded out our experience when added to the Preservation Society mansions. We recommend it.

The tour is a good experience. The guide is excellent and full of stories about local people and history. You see a variety of local landscapes and terrain. Certainly an excellent way to support local economies.

Good overview of Newport - the bus driver/tour guide was knowledgeable but talked fast and held the mic close to his mouth resulting in a mumbled , garbled and hard to understand narration. The tour was a bit rambling around Newport and towards the end, we stopped at an overlook for about 10 minutes - I guess to stretch our legs and burn some time / not really sure why as there were lots more sights to see. Next time I think I’ll take the harbor cruise which got very high ratings.

The guide was extremely knowledgeable and incorporated his personal history and experiences into the tour, which was very interesting! He was extremely considerate of the crowd and made a lot of effort to ensure everyone enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!

If you want an overview of Newport RI, a trolley tour is what you should do. You travel beyond the marina area to see the outlying areas that you would miss otherwise. The history of Newport is presented by a knowledgeable guide.

Our driver/guide was fantastic. Unfortunately we can’t remember his name but he grew up in Newport and is a retired history teacher. In addition to being a font of local history, he showed us several beautiful spots in Newport (state parks and such) that are free to visit and have parking.
