Beschreibung

Great tour with Dennis - highly recommended

I did the tour with my 16-year old son and it became one of our absolute NYC highlights. Our guide Dennis shared lots of stories about the Mafia dynamics over several decades and could answer any questions that we and others in our group had. He grew up in the neighborhood himself and personally knew several of the main characters of the time, which made many stories most personal and insightful.

The best food and history tour.

Frank was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared his own experiences along with the history of the crime family in NYC. The meatballs and pasta at John’s were delicious. Also the canolas on Mulberry Street were delectable. We will definitely be making a return trip!!!

Mafia food tour

Great tour! If you happen to be a fan of the Sopranos you will definitely enjoy meeting in the restaurant where a famous scene from the show took place. Be ready to walk, and dress appropriately for the weather. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Thanks so much for the great review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the tour and the stop at that iconic Sopranos spot—it is always a massive hit with fans of the show. We really appreciate you reminding future guests to check the forecast and wear comfortable walking shoes, too! Our team loves sharing these neighborhood secrets, and it comes naturally to them because our guides are all retired NYPD detectives and police officers who actually worked these streets. That real-world law enforcement perspective is exactly why you might have spotted some of our guys on screen in the Netflix docuseries Fear City and Get Gotti, or in the recent Goodfellas documentary As Far Back As I Can Remember... The Story of Goodfellas. We truly appreciate you coming out to eat and walk with us, and we hope to see you again.

Unorganized Crime

We were excited about this tour, waiting to be introduced to Mafia warlords and here their fascinating stories. We arrived a few minutes before the start time and waited a considerable amount before entering the Italian restaurant and eating. Suggestion: a whole group shouldn't have to wait for a couple of people who are late; instead, let them know where to meet us when they arrive. Our tour guide gave us plenty of background and stories about his police work and family, but few pertinent Mafia details until latecomers arrived. Unfortunately, the tour lacked clear organization and presentation of stories, with the guide giving an abundance of names that got confusing and not enough details to connect the stories and Mafia family histories. Perhaps focusing on fewer details dating back to Mafia origins, organized crime, and the the 5 families would have provided a more interesting tour, with references to earlier crime families. Not every single name is relevant and audience interest may wane if they have not read the whole history before the tour. Also, a group of 30 was much too large to walk through neighborhoods; we had to wait for people at crosswalks and wasted a lot of time. The tour went over by almost a half an hour and some people left because they had other things scheduled. We took this tour on July 8, 2026 and it was a bit rainy which also hampered our walk a bit. While the guide was a very nice man and knew his details, a tour featuring more specific fascinating mob stories and fewer names would have been more interesting to hear about. Also, we wish we could have experienced more hands on site visits, but the tour guide was not able to access specific areas, only signaling points of interest to his group. Final thoughts for tour guide: Work on presentation skills and engaging audience more with organized storytelling. People want to be immersed in the whole Mafia experience while touring.
