Negombo Fischmarkt & Trockenfischfelder Der Negombo Fish Market, lokal bekannt als Lellama, ist ein chaotisches, buntes und authentisches Stück lokales Leben. Es ist einer der größten und dynamischsten Fischmärkte der Insel. Der Markt : Besuchen Sie am besten am frühen Morgen (gegen 06:00 Uhr), um zu sehen, wie Fischer ihre frischen Fänge von Thunfisch, Krabben, Garnelen und verschiedenen Rifffischen entladen. Es ist ein lebendiges, lautes und geschäftiges Spektakel, das einen rohen Einblick in Sri Lankas Fischereiwirtschaft bietet. Die Trockenfischfelder : Gleich hinter dem Nassmarkt befindet sich das sonnendurchflutete Gebiet, in dem große Teile des Tagesfangs – vor allem kleine Fische und große, geschnittene Stücke – zum Trocknen unter freiem Himmel angelegt werden, eine traditionelle Konservierungsmethode. Der Kanal verläuft etwa 14,5 Kilometer lang und verbindet Puttalam mit Colombo. Er führt rechts durch Negombo, wo er mit der Negombo-Lagune verbindet.

Absolutely brilliant tour guide, very knowledgeable and polite. Provided ice cold water for free. Took us to some stunning churches and temples, and to the famous fish market ( be prepared for strong smells, luckily I'm from Grimsby so the smell of fish didn't bother me). The tour guide didn't pressure us or take us to anywhere we didn't want to go and even offered to take us to an ATM and a supermarket to buy rice (as my phone succumbed to the 95% humidity so needed drying out). Great value for money definitely recommended and will use again.

Beautiful tour around Negombo with very friendly driver . We visited a church. A Hindu temple and a Buddhist Tempel as well as the fish market, the Saturday market , Dutch Fort and the dry fish area.
