Reiseverlauf

I loved visiting the Ballestas Islands, and meeting marine species of those environments. The guide very good. The spectacular landscape. Interact with other tourists, and at the same time, enjoy my freedom to know that we are not alone in the world, but that God is our main guide.
Only a couple of things to point out — the bus was super comfy with seats that leaned way back, which made the ride really chill. The tour reps were great too, meeting me at every stop and making sure I got to the next place with zero hassle. Just a heads-up if you're going to the Ballestas Islands: bring a face mask, because the bird poop smell is seriously strong!
Our driver Luis was amazing. Little problem with seats on the plane to Nazca line. We had a strut in the middle of the window so photos were difficult. The hotel was amazing and as way the boat tour
Great way to spend a whole day. A1. Very good Service!! I recommend it, for young and not so young people.
Only 2 things to warn about on this one. #1 It is an extremely early start but the bus is awesome and easy to sleep in. #2 Although I specifically requested at booking, that I did not want to be seated under the wing, I was seated there anyways. Metal wing support obstructs 20% of your view and you can't get good pictures. Guide was great, and the Ballestas Islands were amazing. Boat staff were very professional. Nazca Lines were amazing, but the obstructed view hurt the experience. This flight is not for the faint of heart or weak stomached. Many passengers on our flight were getting sick and fainting. Ironically not enjoying their perfect views.
This is a unique experience, it isn't a set tour per say. But in some ways better, you get more of a local vibe while travelling. The only drawback is if something goes wronged it can mess up the whole day. But seeing the island with the sea lions and 10s of thousands of birds was just awesome, we even had a pod of dolphins show up too. The Nazca lines was AWESOME, just do the flight. The tour company that sets up the day is with you during the day, but only as a guide to get you to the activities, and help navigate the transportation. All in all it was a Fantastic Experience, but a long day!

First I got picked up at my hotel in Miraflores. Then a four hour busdrive to Ballestas Island. Here it was a wild and amazing bird- and sealions life. After this we had 40 minutes break, before we flew over the Nazca lines. Exciting and lovely tour.

Getting up at 3am to get picked up from your hotel and get dropped off at a different bus company that operates to the town close to ballestas islands. The bus was good since it had a huge reclinable angle. After a few hours I was dropped off at the town and a guide picked me up and dropped me off at the pier for ballestas island. The island trip was really good and get picked up once after and get dropped off at the airport for nazca lines. The airplane ride induces nausea in people so beware but it really is worth it to do it once. After that get picked up and eat a late lunch. Hang around for a few hours and get back onto a bus that drives you back to lima
This was not a tour, but a string of third party services pieced together by Viajes Pacifico which worked, 75% of the time. No one party, including Viajes Pacifico's 24 hour service could assist or consistently answer any questions. On 3 occasions I was left sitting waiting on someone to pick me up. This might have been ok, but I was in Peru, and knew little about the country. This all was aspirated by the fact that the events were 3+ hours from Lima, which became critical when the 3rd party bus company was over 50 minutes late picking me up at the public station where I had been deposited. When I arrived in Lima, there was no one from Viajes Pacifico to transfer me back to the hotel, so I had to find a taxi and pay for this, which increased the trip cost and time. My day lasted from 3am until 8:30pm. The flight over the Nazcar Lines was 30 minutes to the site from the airport there, 30 minutes back, and about 40 minutes actually over the lines. There was zero discussion about the lines or their history. The copilot simply would state "on the right, look, there is the monkey, now we are turning to the left so they can see". However, this was over a speaker system, with him using a headset and the passengers trying to hear his garbled direction over the engine noise. Additionally, these instructions were stated in Japanese, English and then Spanish, over and over, while the plane raced right then left, then right again. But, we did see the lines, and that's what I came to see. The Ballestas Island trip was similar. Another 3rd party company took us 30 minutes out, whisking us around the islands, and then 30 minutes back. The tour operator had no way to communicate with the 20ish in the open boat, but to try and speak over the engines, again in Spanish and English, never a quiet moment just to enjoy the incredible sites. There was no consistent representative from Viajes Pacifico, but string of "associates" that will "pick you up" at some location. Again, because of the lack of consistency, none of these 3rd parties or "associates" knew anything about what I was to expect next. When I booked the trip 3 months earlier, the ticket does state I would be picked up at 3:00am and to check back later for the pickup location. I called, and a Viajes Pacifico tour guide I met in Machu Picchu called Viajes Pacifico's phone more than 7 times trying to determine exactly where in Lima and what time I should be there. Were were told as many locations and times ranging from 3 to 6:30. All of this might have been more acceptable, except I was charged $483, plus I had to pay for my non-alcoholic drinks and taxi home. I booked 5 other Viatour tours on this trip to Peru, and probably 15+ in other destinations. This was by far the worst managed and executed.
Although there were several “sections" of the tour, the company organized it very well. I had an amazing day. The flight over Nazca Lines was a little bit dizzy, but if you want to check out this wonder, there is no other way better than this.
