Navigation im Beagle-Kanal mit Minitrekking USHUAIA
Beschreibung
Wir segeln vom örtlichen Touristenpier durch die weite Bucht von Ushuaia, bis wir durch Paso Chico den Beagle-Kanal erreichen. Dort segeln wir um die Vogelinsel herum, wo wir die feuerländische Vogelwelt bewundern können. Wir werden beobachten: Skúas, Schwarzbrauenalbatrosse, Dampfenten, Cauquenes, Kochmöwen und Graumöwen. Dann nähern wir uns der Isla de los Lobos, wo wir Seelöwen mit einem und zwei Haaren beobachten können. Beide Inseln gehören zum Bridges-Archipel. Bei der Ankunft am Leuchtturm Les Eclaireurs (The Illuminators) können wir die Kolonien der Kaiserkormorane und Felsenkormorane sehen, während wir der Geschichte des Untergangs der SS Monte Cervantes lauschen, die er 1930 spielte. Wir machen einen Abstieg in Puerto Karelo, das zu den Bridges-Inseln gehört, wo Sie echte Yámana-Muschelhaufen besichtigen können. Diese geführte Wanderung dauert ungefähr 20 Minuten und konzentriert uns auf einen Aussichtspunkt, von dem aus sehr gute Fotos gemacht werden können.

Wir beginnen unsere Fahrt vom Touristenpier unserer Stadt in Richtung Beagle-Kanal und genießen dabei den Panoramablick auf die Küste von Ushuaia. Dabei sehen wir die wichtigsten Gebäude, das Schifffahrtsmuseum (ehemaliges Gefängnis), das Museum vom Ende der Welt, das Industriegebiet und die Berge Olivia und Cinco Hermanos.
Wir fahren zu den Bridges Islands, wo wir anhalten und absteigen. Es ist wichtig hervorzuheben, dass die Wanderung, die im Rahmen dieses Besuchs unternommen wird, keinerlei Schwierigkeiten bereitet und für jeden machbar ist. Neben dem Erlebnis, auf einer kleinen Insel mitten im Beagle-Kanal spazieren zu gehen, besteht das Ziel darin, die folgenden drei grundlegenden Attraktionen kennenzulernen: Yámanas Conchero: archäologische Überreste der ursprünglichen Bewohner des Beagle-Kanals. Nur wenige Meter vom Dock entfernt befinden sich Lagerhäuser aus der Siedlung der Yámanas oder Yaganes. Wir werden eines davon betreten und uns anhand der Erklärungen des Führers vorstellen, wie sie damals lebten. Darüber hinaus ermöglicht uns ein Schnitt in der Wand der Muschelhalde, die Schichtung der weggeworfenen Muschelklappen besser zu verstehen und zu beobachten. Beim Durchlaufen des Interpretationsparcours können wir die besondere Entwicklung der Pflanzen, Blumen und Früchte in diesem besonderen Ökosystem nachvollziehen.
Wir gehen erneut an Bord und segeln Richtung Südwesten, nähern uns der Isla de Los Lobos, wo wir vom Boot aus den Anblick der Seelöwen genießen und ihren dauerhaften Lebensraum in einer wundervollen Umgebung beobachten können. Wir segeln weiter und nehmen Kurs auf Bird Island, den Lebensraum der Magellan- und Kaiserkormorane und ein bevorzugtes Gebiet zur Beobachtung von Meeresvögeln. Wir fahren weiter zum Leuchtturm Les Eclaireurs im gleichnamigen Archipel, wo das Schiff Monte Cervantes 1930 Schiffbruch erlitt.
Der Rückweg erfolgt über Paso Chico. Unterwegs sehen wir den Tunnel und die Estancias von Fique und kehren nach Ushuaia zurück, mit Blick auf den imposanten Rahmen, den der Monte Martial und der gleichnamige Gletscher der Stadt verleihen.

Very crowded on catamaran. Landscaping is scenic but a little boring. Expected to see more wildlife than birds.

Wildlife sightings in the Beagle Channel can vary depending on weather and natural conditions. While birds are very common, sea lions and other marine life are sometimes seen along the route, though sightings can never be guaranteed. Much depends on the weather conditions, if the sea is rough it can be annoying. The views and sights of the animals repay the possible discomfort.

Not as interesting as I thought it would be, for me a little oversold. Slow boarding and not sure why, the line kept stopping and starting. Guide talks were mainly in Spanish with a cut-down version in English. The 'walk' is a 100m to a sign for the town name. We didn't really get to do the Beagle Channel, just a small part of it, I thought we would have gone around the coastline further. Got to see the sealions from the boat though. Boat size was good with comfy seats and big windows and lots of outside space too.

We had a great experience, it was nice to see the city from the water perspective. Walking on the island was nice as well. We were lucky with the weather. Unfortunately we did not spot whales.

It's a big ship, nothing spectacular but if you wanna chill on a boat it's a nice programme. There is no real trekking, it's a 10 metres walk. The provider pushes people out who don't pay for the photos the professional photographers do on the boat. We saw penguins from far and sealions too.

Well organized, comfortable boat, beautiful landscapes, guide in eapanhol and English. We left at 9:30 and returned 3 hours later directly for lunch at a dozen good restaurants in the region.

On a beautiful calm day it was a great introduction to the landscape as my first holiday activity. The island visit was just a short path out and back but taking a moment on the beach was nice.

We were able to see lots of animals from sea lions, penguins, cormorants, and even some whales. The boat was comfortable and even made one stop to get off and explore an island.
