Beschreibung
Der Amboseli-Nationalpark ist eines von Kenias Safari-Reisezielen, ein Land der Riesen-Elefanten mit großen Stoßzähnen. Mit einer Population von etwa 1800 Elefanten wird er auch als Heimat von Elefanten und Großkatzen bezeichnet, darunter Löwen, Geparden und Leoparden, die alle im Vergleich zum höchsten afrikanischen Berg stehen Kilimandscharo. Es ist ein wunderschöner, kompakter Park mit vielen Wildtieren, darunter Wasserböcke, Büffel, Giraffen, Wildschweine (Warzenschweine), Hyänenhöhlen, die leicht zu entdecken sind, und eine Vielzahl von Vögeln, darunter Flamingos und Wasservögel wie Sumpfhuhn, Eisvögel, Pelikane, Hamerkop und 47 Raubvogelarten der Lebensraum der Sümpfe. Der Park verfügt über eine gute Auswahl an Unterkünften für unterschiedliche Budgets und Stilrichtungen. Das Amboseli-Ökosystem ist die weltberühmte Heimat der Massai-Gemeinschaft, die reich an Kulturerbe und pastoralen Praktiken ist.

After our first introduction (visit to Nairobi NP - review elsewhere on Tripadvisor), we scheduled a 2 day visit to Amboseli with Peter. He took all organisation out of our hands and was very kind and helpful where needed. The visit itself was great, Amboseli is well worth visiting. We took some great pictures. Peter took us to a Masai village on the second day which was also very worthwile. Also, the stay at Ol Tukai resort is recommendable. They have well equipped rooms with mosquito nets and serve very good and diverse meals (buffetstyle). If you’re vegetarian then there is still plenty to choose from.
