Wenn Sie im Juli in Japan sind, sollten Sie es nicht verpassen!(Die Turniere finden 6 Mal im Jahr statt; 3 Mal in Tokio, je einmal in Osaka, Nagoya und Fukuoka. Jedes Turnier dauert 15 Tage. ) Wenn Sie Sumo sehen möchten, dauert es etwa zwei Stunden mit Shinkansen von Tokio und etwa eine Stunde mit Shinkansen von Kyoto. Wonderful experience. The meeting point was easy to find, and our guide, Yuumi, was friendly and knowledgeable. Before entering IG Arena, she explained the basics of sumo, the tournament, and what to expect. Inside, she showed us the trophies that the champion will get, guided us to our seats, and pointed out where to get food. Throughout the matches, she shared interesting facts about the wrestlers, their current records and answered our questions. The makuuchi and yokozuna ring entrance ceremonies were also awesome. Watching the sumo matches live was amazing, and I recommend this tour.
Getting to go to the grand sumo tournament was an experience I’ll never forget. Our guide was great and it was awesome to learn about sumo from him and see the sights. Plus meeting the others in the group help make it exceptional.
