We had a wonderful time enjoying Oslo on our walking tour with Anastasia. Learning about some of the myths and legends was a lot of fun.
Dear Alan, We are glad you enjoyed our Myths and Legends tour of Oslo with Anastasiia. We would be delighted to show you more on your next visit to Oslo.
Our tour guide Anastasiia was excellent!! She was very knowledgeable about history and also life in Oslo! My husband and I took a tour with her early in our trip and she was able to answer all our questions, give activity recommendations and told many interesting stories. I liked that the tour had a little bit of an edge to it. She showed us the town execution square and told us about the black metal church burnings. We learned a lot about how Norse myth influences Norwegian culture today as well. If you like true crime or Norse mythology, I recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for sharing this — it truly means a lot to us. We are very happy to hear that Anastasiia made such a strong impression and that her stories, knowledge, and local insight added so much to the start of your stay in Oslo. We are glad the tour helped you connect more deeply with Norwegian culture and the city, and we hope the rest of your journey was just as memorable.
Our tour guide had a lot of information about Norwegian history and folklore, but wasn’t very dynamic. It was also a little difficult to understand everything due to her thick accent.
Thank you for the review, Lisa!
Our guide Irina was so knowledgeable during the tour. She picked us up at our hotel and started our walk from there. It was fun to learn about the different laces around Oslo but also learn more about their Constitution Day. I give her great credit for being able to do all that walking and still tell about everything. Thank you! We had a great time!
Absolutely delightful! Alla gave a great tour and she was so knowledgeable. This led us a great deal of Norwegian history and made it fun! Definitely worth doing this walking tour!
Thank you so much for your great review, Shelly! I hope you enjoyed your day in Oslo.
A very informative tour about Oslo’s history in particular and Norway’s in general: not much myth involved, mostly factual events, unlike what the tour title suggests. We were a family with an 8 and 14 year old children and the guide was very considerate, addressing them directly, not just us adults. We were in Oslo for one day only; we have covered everything to be seen in this tour.
Thank you very much for your five stars review! It inspires us to continue working on our tours. Hope you liked Norway and come here again. Best wishes, Nordiva Tours
I do not often write any review, but I will make an exception for this one. I met Alla perfect on time in the city center of Oslo at the City hall. From there I got a tour both in space and time. I could easily imagine how Oslo was kept from invasions by the cleverness of Thordenskiold and how he grouped his soldiers so the enemy thought he was much more powerful than he actually was. Then the history of the old style burglars with the robbing of the national bank. There is still a huge amount of money hidden somewhere. But Alla did not stop there, she told lively about ghosts in restaurants and hotels, and even in the fortress. Every minute was exiting. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. The two hours went all too fast, and I would love to come back and hear more. Ola Breivik
We are happy to hear that you like the tour and the guide. Thank you for booking and welcome to Oslo again! Best regards, Tamara
We met our guide Margrete R. at the City Hall on time and was asked what we wanted to hear about Oslo. A bit surprized by the question we emphasized that we wanted to hear about exactly what we paid for: Vikings, criminals and legendary local ghosts and the dark side of local history. You could imidietly sence that the guide was not happy with that, and said that she was rather interested in culture and art. She started off by telling us the meaning of the sculptures on the City Hall, which had nothing to do with any viking, criminal or ghost. This was a sign for how the rest of the tour was going to evolve. What was the most frustrating issue, was that she had no real story to tell and zero structure in her stories, there was a 2-hour walk with mostly descriptions of statues, building and architecture - things that we were not there for. Addionally, the guide lacked knowledge about the things she presented and appeared inexperienced and not at all credible. We are those types of people that easily can believe in a bit overnatural stuff, but her stories couldn't be believed. For example, she initially said that ghosts cannot live more than 250 years, but 5 minutes later she talked about ghosts still living in a cellar of a Hotel that were from the 17th century. Moreover, for some reason she started at one point to talk about oak-trees (she wanted to explain the name Ekeberg), stating that there was absolutely none left in the whole Oslo area, and minutes later we passed a huge oak-tree... She was astonished herself, and we were just disappointed. Throughout the trip it she repetedly presented her own appreciations and poorly judged assumptions, like for instance her political points of view regarding gun-production in Norway. By now, the reader probably will avoid this poor and expensive guided tour, but to be sure, here are some additional points which frustrated us even more: - Her english was a huge hinder for understanding her already fractional stories, and we had to contiously help her finding the correct words. - She was at one point during talking picking up her phone and called someone. - Sometimes she walked in the middle of the streets, and when a car came she started running to the walkers area. - During the tour, it looked like she was more interested in walking a trip herself, than giving us guidance. To sum up, this was a waste of time and money.
Dear lfc2018, We are sorry to hear about such a disappointing experience. We apologise for poor presentation of our special tour, we collected information about legends in years. Here is nothing more to say, we are very sorry.

Had a wonderful experience with Irina. She was engaging, informative and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning. We requested a slight change in start time and she accommodated us and met us at our hotel. Would absolutely recommend this tour. We had a morning tour and it was great as the streets of Oslo are pretty quiet in the morning.

This is a thinking person's tour. My knowledgeable guide, Alla, provided a wealth of detailed information of the sites we saw, putting them in historical, political, cultural, artistic, and religious perspective. Considering this, the tour was much too short but if you value quality over quantity I highly recommend it.
