Took advantage of the $5 Thursday after 5pm admission. Totally worth the $5 and the exhibit was really cool and there was even a scavenger hunt on the second floor throughout the exhibit when we were there. Besides the gift shop, check out the bakery goodies by the entrance (towards the back) had some veryyyyy delicious dessert and pastries (and free samples too).
It’s a unique and beautiful museum of modern glass art! They had a cute scavenger hunt for kids with tiny glass sculptures that was enjoyed by my 6 year old very much!
Imagine Museum, like the other principal museums of St Pete, is truly wonderful. It is well thought out, has beautiful exhibits that change periodically. I also very much enjoyed learning more about the history of glass. However, I was shocked, dismayed, and displeased that Imagine has a whole room on the second floor dedicated to a politcal figure with quotes in gold and images of him as well. It kind of ruined the experience for me and I wondered how they could even do this? I want to warn anyone going to Imagine Museum so that they are not taken by surpirse having to walk through a shrine to a very controversial political figure. It kind of ruined the whole thing! Is this a museum of the history and beauty of glass or is this a tribute to a politician?
Beautiful glass and inspirational displays. Stopped by on a day with a discounted entry due to parts being closed but there was plenty to see.
We were referred to this museum by friends who had previously visited, so we decided to check it out on our short trip to St. Pete. The works of art on the first floor were truly spectacular. We love glass art and some of the pieces displayed here were unlike anything we have seen before. The second floor was an entirely different story. Thee was an exhibit of aliens that was just weird and not anywhere near the level of artistry displayed on the first floor. But it got worse…an entire gallery supported by the supposedly “non-partisan” Freedom 250 organization was an embarrassingly tacky shrine to Donald Trump. Why this museum felt the need to dedicate space to a person who has done everything possible to destroy the arts in this country is beyond my imagination. Such an incredible disappointment.
This museum delves into the imagination. The works are fantastic. Everything from fine glass to imagination of outer space with glass works. So much talent in these pieces. We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and would recommend seeing it.
The museum is both beautiful and interesting. We couldn't resist buying a beautiful blown glass piece and some hand crafted earrings.
The glass art was spectacular, breathtaking. For many pieces, it was impossible to imagine how they were made and how long it took to make them. However, a room of Trump worship desecrated the enjoyment of the art. A person who is destroying the Smithsonian museum and has destroyed the Kennedy center seems antithetical to the free expression of art in a museum. I have visited art museums around the world and have never seen one corrupted by politics as this one was. Very disappointing.
Initially we were enthralled and inspired at the Imagine Museum in St Pete, FL. The history of glass from pre biblical times to the present was captivating. But then suddenly a disturbing and inappropriate insertion of a political figure was inserted into an otherwise delightful experience. Bringing a political figure into an otherwise inspirational and uplifting day was suddenly ruined. I would not recommend Imagine Museum and I will never go there again. Disrupting an art experience is not welcome. The other visitors, none of whom I knew, had a similar experience, and I heard many negative comments. To pay entry into this lovely museum, and then have your lovely day ruined by the sudden unexpected room dedicated to a political figure made the whole afternoon into an unpleasant day
The glass art is amazingly beautiful . There was a glass formal gown that was so realistic looking you just wanted to touch it but you knew you couldn’t .
