Steigen Sie mit Ihrem Reiseleiter nach einer einstündigen Bootstour zur Insel Elephanta vom Gateway of India aus und erkunden Sie die herrlichen Höhlen. Die äußeren Höhlen wurden als Ort der Hindu-Gottesanbetung genutzt, bis die portugiesische Herrschaft begann. Die Höhlen weiter im Inneren sind kleinere und buddhistische Höhlen. Die Haupthöhle, auch bekannt als die Shiva-Höhle, enthält zahlreiche aus dem Fels gehauene Skulpturen, die verschiedene Aspekte aus dem Leben des Gottes Shiva darstellen, wie seine Hochzeit, seine Tötung von Andhaka und vieles mehr.
