Verloren in den Seiten der Geschichte, steht dieser britische Wachturm immer noch hoch, während er das schöne Arabische Meer überblickt. In seinem 350-jährigen Bestehen war dieses Fort Schauplatz von Piratenangriffen, Seekriegen und diente auch als Garnison. Von der Festung aus sehen Sie das architektonische Meisterwerk - Bandra Worli Sea Link auf der einen Seite und die Vogelperspektive des Vintage-Dorfes auf der anderen Seite.
In Anlehnung an den Nicherin-Zweig des Buddhismus befindet sich in diesem 50 Jahre alten Tempel eine wunderschöne Buddha-Statue - eine Seltenheit in Mumbai. Die Menschen kommen hierher, um nicht nur das Idol, sondern auch den Mönch mit Löwenherz zu verehren.
Wir beginnen den Spaziergang mit dem Tempel der sprechenden Göttin und begeben uns auf den Markt, der Sie in das Land der Geschichten entführt. I recently did a heritage walking tour of Worli Village, and it was honestly such a refreshing experience. It’s incredible to think that this 800-year-old village exists right in the middle of Mumbai, yet holds onto so much history, culture, and character. Our guide, Heer, was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and brought the place to life with stories, facts, and little bits of trivia that made the walk so engaging. Having lived in Mumbai all my life, I was surprised at how much I didn’t know about this area! What really stood out was how well she managed the group — she kept a comfortable pace, never rushed us, and made sure everyone stayed interested and involved throughout. It felt relaxed yet informative at the same time. As a fun bonus, she even invited a local YouTube sensation to join us, which added a unique and lively touch to the experience. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore a different side of Mumbai!

Had been seeing the beautiful colourful boats of this Worli village every time I would cross the sea link to go towards Nariman Point and today got the chance to actually see then up & Close. Heer is damn good. She being so friendly with the locals made the tour so easy and the feelings of outsiders intruding the village life was not there. She knows the details of the place and ppl too. The Worli Village Walk was a truly memorable experience! I loved discovering the history, culture and hidden stories of Worli with Devyani leading the way. Nasreen understood that we were clearly tired and conducted this tour at a slower pace - much appreciated. We found Nasreen very engaging and the tour was conducted as a conversation - with some guides they just want to give you information; this certainly isn’t her style. The tour gave us an insight into the history of the area, the social challenges faced by the local population and a political overview. Really enjoyed our afternoon and forgot we were tired!

We had a wonderful tour of Worli with Devyani! She's not only very knowledgeable about the area, it's people, and their history but she's deeply passionate about it which makes the tour a true joy. It's an area of Mumbai that most tourists will never see and very worth the experience! I'd recommend the earlier one so you can hopefully see the fish market in action!
