Our visit to Muir Woods was a highlight of our San Francisco trip. So beautiful! We enjoyed this tour very much and highly recommend it. Our guide was hilarious, and unfortunately, I cannot remember his name. He really made the trip fun and did a phenomenal job of navigating the treacherous roads leading to the park. Thanks for a great day!
First off our driver was funny as all heck. His two recommendations were spot on. Mrs wanted to see redwoods and you’ll see redwoods. She’s happy and that improved my quality of life. Lol
Great tour guide . Comfortable seating and informative. We really enjoyed the experience of both places and time limit at each place was great .great pictures by the Golden Gate Bridge .
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the tour, comfortable ride, and Golden Gate photos
We got a message the day before that our guide was sick and they offered us a trip the following day. We found out after that we were the only 2 booked, so they canceled. They should have just said that (as we understand that) instead of lying. Muir Woods was beautiful and the walking trails were great for seniors. We throughly enjoyed Muir Woods. Unfortunately, the weather in Saucilito was cold and windy. It was nice on the day they canceled, but weather is weather! We paid extra to take the ferry back. That was nice. If the weather would have been nice, it would have been better, but still was a nice trip by ferry.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed Muir Woods and the ferry ride, and appreciate your understanding about the weather. We’re sorry for the confusion with the schedule and will review this with our team to improve communication.
Joe was a great guide. Loved the experience
Thank you! We’re glad you had a great experience and will share your kind words with Joe
This tour is a combo of visit to Gold Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, and other site If you are looking for a family trip with easy walk, this one is good. If you are expert in hiking or wanna spend more times to see Muir Woods, it’s better to choose another one In gist, it’s still a good tour for recommendation.
Thank you for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed the tour and found it family-friendly. We appreciate the recommendation!
Definitely worth it! The guide was great, funny, and informative. The tour was amazing, self guided, but plenty of help/info along the way. Pictures don’t do it justice! The stop in Sausalito is just long enough to walk around to grab food or shop a little, and the ferry ride back was relaxing, easy, and went right past Alcatraz.
Thank you for your review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the tour, the views, and the ferry ride back. We appreciate your kind words about your guide and hope to welcome you again soon!
Overall the experience was very good! George the driver was very personable and informative! His knowledge was encyclopedic! We could've spent more time in Sausalito, but then again there is next time.
Thank you for your review! We're delighted to hear George made the experience enjoyable with his knowledge and personality. We hope to welcome you back for more time in Sausalito next time!
Driver was funny and informative enjoyed the woods, the trees and lunch in Sausalito. Ferry ride back to peer was very nice
Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed Muir Woods, Sausalito, the ferry ride, and our driver's commentary. We hope to see you again soon!
I was traveling with my friend of 40+ years who was very recently diagnosed with ALS. She wanted to go see blue whales before she totally lost her ability to walk. While we were in California we decided to add a few extra activities to our agenda. One of them was a Grayline tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito in San Francisco. I had rented a mobility scooter for my friend since she has difficulty walking long distances. I e-mailed Grayline tours prior to our trip to let them know that we would be bringing a mobility scooter so they could make any necessary adjustments if needed. I received an e-mail back stating that they did not know which vehicle would be dispatched and that, depending on the size of the group it could be anything from a van to a large bus, and that I should reach out again 3 days prior to the tour to find out which vehicle they would send. At this point I’m concerned. Are they going to refuse us access to the tour at the departure point if the vehicle doesn’t have cargo space to stow the scooter? I politely responded that disability laws state that they need to accommodate a customer with a disability and that if they weren’t going to do so, I would need to communicate with a supervisor, or someone with more authority in the company. I was provided with the email addresses of a couple of people higher up. The vehicle that met us was a large bus with a luggage compartment adequate to stow the scooter. Unfortunately our bus driver/tour guide ruined this tour for us! I was not able to get his name since he wasn’t wearing any type of name tag, but the tour was on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 10:40 am from San Francisco. We were met by a tour representative prior to the vehicle’s arrival. When the bus arrived this gentleman helped me to dismantle the scooter and stow it while the bus driver looked on. When we got to Muir Woods the driver approached me and said, “Why don’t you go to the visitors center and ask for a wheelchair so we don’t have to mess with this scooter?” “I responded, “I don’t know about that. She’s going to want her scooter.” He replied, “Do it yourself then!” and walked away! So, I proceeded to unload the scooter and assemble it myself. Fortunately a very nice gentleman on the tour came over and helped me, and then assisted my friend from the bus to the scooter. The driver went to get brochures/maps to hand out to our group. He then proceeded to give everybody one, except my friend. She said, “Excuse me! Can I have a brochure?” He looked at her for several seconds before reluctantly handing her one. She told me that he had made her feel like a “second class citizen”, since she was disabled. Prior to our arrival at Muir Woods the driver spent about 5 minutes emphasizing the fact that the bus would be leaving promptly at 1:30 pm and that if we were not on the bus at that time, he would leave us there. And that there was no cell phone coverage so, we would be stuck with no way back to San Francisco. So, my friend and I cut short our tour of the woods to make sure we could get back to the bus, dismantle and stow the scooter, and board the bus so we didn’t get left behind. When we arrived back at the bus, the driver said, “What are you doing back here so early?” in a definitely irritated tone, like we had disturbed his private time. My friend responded “I didn’t want to be left behind since it takes me longer to do things.” He just stared at her and didn’t respond. But evidently everyone else on the tour was concerned as well, because they were all back on the bus a good 10 minutes early! When we arrived at Sausalito, I again, had to deal with the scooter with no help from the driver. Fortunately we took the ferry back to San Francisco, so we didn’t have to deal with the driver any longer! There are plenty of other companies that offer trips to Muir Woods. It’s my opinion that it would be wise to choose a different one with better customer service.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience, especially regarding accessibility and the behavior of the driver. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we take your comments very seriously. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will review it with our team to ensure it is addressed.
