Ich habe diese Tour speziell für Touristen konzipiert, die mehr und gute historische Informationen über die Kulturerbe in Anuradhapura, den Buddhismus, die buddhistische Kultur, spirituelle Erlebnisse und gutes Radfahren erfahren möchten. Dies ist ein historischer heiliger Bo-Baum (Ficus religiosa) im Mahamewuna-Garten in Anuradapura
Lovamahapaya ist ein Gebäude zwischen Ruwanweliseya und Sri Mahabodiya in der antiken Stadt Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Er wird auch „Eherner Palast“ oder „Lohaprasadaya“ genannt, da das Dach mit Bronzeziegeln gedeckt war.
Der Ruwanweli Maha Seya, auch bekannt als Swarnamali Maha Seya (wörtlich „der Große Thupa“), ist ein Stupa (eine halbkugelförmige Struktur mit Reliquien) in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Zwei Quart oder ein Dona der Reliquien Buddhas sind in der Stupa aufbewahrt, was sie zur größten Sammlung seiner Reliquien überhaupt macht.[1] Es wurde um 1900 vom singhalesischen König Dutugemunu erbaut. Chr., der nach einem Krieg, in dem der Chola-König Elāra (Ellalan) besiegt wurde, König von Sri Lanka wurde.
Kuttam Pokuna (Zwillingsteiche oder Becken) sind gut erhaltene alte Badebecken oder Teiche in Sri Lanka.
Der Samadhi-Buddha ist eine berühmte Statue im Mahamevnāwa-Park in Anuradapura. Die Haltung der Meditation ist mit seiner ersten Erleuchtung verbunden. Diese Statue ist 7 Fuß 3 Zoll hoch und aus Granitmarmor geschnitzt.
Abhayagiri Vihāra war ein bedeutendes Kloster des Theravada-, Mahayana- und Vajrayana-Buddhismus in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.
Dieser Almosenspendeplatz liegt in der Nähe der Uttara Mula und gilt als das Hauptrefektorium des Abayagiri-Klosters. Es handelt sich um ein quadratisches Gebäude mit einer Seitenlänge von 42,7 m. Sandakada Pahana, auch Mondstein genannt, ist ein einzigartiges Merkmal der Architektur des alten Sri Lanka.[1][2][3] Es handelt sich um eine kunstvoll geschnitzte halbkreisförmige Steinplatte, die normalerweise am Fuß von Treppen und Eingängen platziert wird. Das Sandakada Pahana tauchte erstmals in der Spätphase der Anuradhapura-Zeit auf und entwickelte sich in der Polonnaruwa-, Gampola- und Kandyan-Zeit weiter. Historikern zufolge symbolisiert das Sandakada Pahana den Zyklus von Samsāra im Buddhismus.
Dieser riesige künstliche Teich namens „Eth Pokuna“ oder „Elefantenteich“ liegt in der Nähe von Lankaramaya in Anuradhapura. Dabei handelt es sich um einen rechteckigen Teich mit einer Länge von 159 Metern, einer Breite von 52,7 Metern und einer Tiefe von 9,5 Metern mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 75.000 Kubikmetern Wasser. Aufgrund seiner Größe bedeutet Eth Pokuna literarisch „Der Elefantenteich“. Dies ist Teil der Landschaft des riesigen Abhayagriya-Klosters, das sich über 500 Hektar erstreckt. Der Tank besteht aus großen Steinblöcken, die schräg an den Wänden gestapelt sind. Es gibt 3 Treppenstufen nach unten, an der Süd-, Nord- und Ostseite. Der Boden ist nicht gepflastert.

Eine weitere Klosteranlage, erbaut von König Mahasen um 4 n. Chr.
Ein britisches Kolonialgebäude aus dem Jahr 1937 bietet einen angemessen königlichen Veranstaltungsort für einige der Schätze, die in Jetavanarama gefunden wurden.

Ajee was a fantastic guide who gave us such a great insight into not just Anuradhapura but Buddhism more broadly and its philosophy and practices, which explained many questions we had had from our time through Sri Lanka. He is an incredibly kind, generous and thoughtful man, and we would highly recommend his tour for everyone! The tour had a very relaxed pace which we definitely appreciated, with regular stops for food and drinks. Doing the tour by bike is definitely the best because it provides a great connection to the surroundings, and it's very peaceful. Can't recommend highly enough!

The bike tour with Ajee was really great! He knows a lot about the history of Buddhism, but also showed us other pieces of culture such as certain plants and what they did with them. Very interesting! He had made delicious things for us and were even spoiled with homemade roti at the end of the tour.

Ajee is a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, passionate about Buddhism and Sr Lanka and really bought the sites and the local way of life to life. The tour with Ajee was amazing! You can choose your pace so we went at a very relaxed pace and ended up spending all day around the heritage site. He provided snacks, coffee, water and lunch which was all delicious. He is very passionate about Buddhism and gave us lots of information. We spent more than 4 hours with Ajee today. Pick-up 2 steps from the site with bikes. There were 5 of us with our grown children and he was particularly attentive to answering all our questions about the site, about Buddhism, and even about some first meditation exercises for one of our daughters! Ultra interesting guided tour to understand the site and the history, very pleasant bike ride, stop to drink because it was very hot. Frankly to be recommended with your eyes closed. Thanks again

We had such a great tour with Ajee, he is very flexible to work around your timeframe for the day. His passion and knowledge of the world heritage sites and Buddhism is exceptional. We also were treated to a delicious Sri Lankan morning tea and lunch to finish off the tour. We biked around 10km but you can do more or less. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
