Diese Schneemobiltour ist für alle gemacht, die nicht nur ein bisschen mehr davon probieren möchten, sondern sich auch nicht darauf festlegen möchten, einen ganzen Tag auf einem Schneemobil zu verbringen. The ride was fun and nice but we booked as a group of 5 and were supplied 2 vehicles only. One of us didn't get to ride on the snowmobile. Also, we were somehow convinced into getting the insurance with the things they said before the ride but saw that wasn't really necessary after we got out of the building. They shared a stat like "2 incidents in 500 rides" after we got the insurance.
We booked a snowmobile tour for just under 200 €. In the booking itself and in the confirmation email, the start time is clearly 15:00. Only if you additionally open the attachment of the confirmation email and read it more closely, you will find the information that you must be on site at least 30 minutes before the start. This notice is neither clearly visible nor highlighted in the actual mail, but only hidden in the attachment. Half an hour before 3:00 p.m. we were called with the statement that our tour would now be completely derelict as we were not there yet. We left immediately and arrived at 2:50 pm – 10 minutes before the officially stated start time. Nevertheless, we were denied participation. Especially annoying: In other reviews, this opaque communication is also criticized. Nevertheless, nothing seems to have changed. If attendance at 2:30 p.m. is mandatory, it should also be communicated clearly and directly as the start time – and not hidden in the attachment. There was no goodwill, no possibility of rebooking and no (partial) refund. For us, this approach is very customer-unfriendly and not transparent. Potential customers should definitely appear much earlier than the officially stated time suggests.
Thank you for this insightful feedback. As you stated, the 30-minute prior arrival is stated within your ticket, but we will also take this opportunity to explore how we can further improve our communications going forward.
The guide was great - Matt - nice tour - we would have liked another speed ride. We had to share a snowmobile for two and keep changing drivers, provided equipment was great - no one had to freeze. Unfortunately, when booking it was unclear that children under 4 are not allowed at all, because you had to pay and book from 4 years and so we assumed that our 3-year-old child, which we had with us, travels for free, as with many other activities. That was a bit of a hassle, but then we found a solution that we were all happy with.
"Pre-Flight:" First of all the Tourguide was excellent at explaining everything. He really Made Sure everyone was listening and understanding the Instructions. After we were packed in additional Socks, Winter Boots as well as warm Overrolls and comfy gloves. Please Note that they give you all these clothes, but they are planned as *additional* outer layers, you will need to wear your warm jacked and trousers underneath. "The Ride:" We started the Ride quite slow getting used to the feel of the vehicle and heading into the Woods. We are slowly getting up more Speed as we travel through the Forest. The Ride is defininetly doable for everyone. Even through it is not a paved Road. It will be a bit bumpy from time to time, but I think thats something you need to expect from an Offroad Tour. We Rode around 10km to a Frozen Lake and turned around, Back the way we where comming from. With round about 1,5h of riding. "The Accident:" Sadly one of our group members crashed, thankfully everyone was okay. The Tourguide also handled the Situation exellent. He made sure everyone is alright. He also reorganized the peoples seating Position quickly as we Had to leave the snowscooter behind. While everyone was okay, we had lost quite some time riding and also returned Back after Accident. Sadly it was not possible to get any Kind of refund even with this unplaned early ending of our Tour. Which actually is the only Bad Thing. PS: I think the snow scooters are limited to 45kph - but dont ask me how I know ;)
We were very lucky despite the temperatures at -35 we were super well equipped, the monitor was listening and really top, the activity time is perfect to make the most of without ending up frozen aha small local tea available the safari path is simply beautiful in a snowy forest to end up on a frozen lake I recommend!
My husband and I booked the tour called Snowmobile Safari into the Arctic Circle Forest on january 1st at 10 am: the other guests who had booked the same tour did not show up, so it ended to be a private tour...it was amazing, funny, simply unforgettable: we had an amazing snowmobiling experience and our guide, Loic, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel safe and confident while still keeping it fun and exciting. We were picked up from Rovaniemi city center and dropped off at the same location at the end of the tour. Thermal overall, helmet, boots, balaclava and mittens were provided. Please note that a valid driving licence is required to drive the snowmobile and photocopies are not accepted. During the tour the guide made several stops to take photos and to switch drivers. The scenery was stunning, the ride was well organised, and Loic’s enthusiasm really made the whole experience memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would 100% recommend this tour.
This experience is 100% worth it. The snowmobile is very easy to drive, and the route is spectacular, with unmatched landscapes through the forest. They make several stops to take photos and to switch drivers. And the guide we had, Adrián, is an excellent person.
Absolutely the worst thing I have done I have done things all around the world doing fun things. I got stuck going 6 mph the entire time and the instructor was not very nice his name was Yan! We payed 500$ for 4 people and got insurance for 60 extra dollars and did have a chance to go fast enough to even come close to hurting the snowmobile ! Would not recommend this to my worst enemy!!!!!!!
Hello and thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It’s unfortunate to read that you are disappointed with your experience or that we didn’t go as fast as you had hoped, but as everyone was also told during the pre-tour briefing, the group will only travel as quickly as the slowest member of the tour in capable of driving. This is for everyone’s safety, as many guests have never been on a snowmobile before, prior to arriving in Rovaniemi. Sometimes this is faster, and other times it is a bit slower. Jan is a seasoned and very experienced guide, and we trust his judgement and support the decisions that he makes regarding the safety and abilities of our guests while on their tours. Snowmobiling can be very intimidating to first timers, and for those that have more experience, the beginner-level tours may very well lack the adventure element that you may have been seeking. If this is the case, a different tour from our available options may have better suited your desires. Thank you.
Quiet and organized event, but I expected more from the tour. It is a walk in the vicinity of the place, in a quiet and organized way, but very limited.
The activity is very nice to do as a family, a little extra for pick up and drop off in the center of Rovaniemi by Matt our guide, very nice and professional. 2h walk very nice , thanks to Aurelie for her good advice and the briefing in French!
