Die beste Vorschau auf das, was Sie in Mostar erwartet, ist ein Besuch in Počitelj, der kleinen Siedlung am linken Ufer des Flusses Neretva, 30 km von Mostar entfernt. Heute ähnelt es eher einem Stadtmuseum, war aber in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten ein wichtiges kulturelles Zentrum. Seine Verteidigungsmauer und Türme sind, obwohl teilweise erhalten, immer noch sehr beeindruckend und eine Erkundung wert. Nach der Pause in Počitelj ist Mostar der nächste Halt. In Mostar werden Sie sich wie im exotischen Orient fühlen, aber das ist nichts Ungewöhnliches, wenn man bedenkt, dass Mostar jahrhundertelang unter türkischer Herrschaft stand. Es ist auch als Ort bekannt, an dem sich Ost und West treffen. Das Erlebnis von Mostar wäre nicht vollständig, ohne ein traditionelles Essen in einem der lokalen Restaurants zu genießen. Der letzte Halt auf unserer Tour sind die wunderbaren Kravica-Wasserfälle, die sogenannte „Oase im Stein“, die vom Staat als natürliche Rarität geschützt wird.

Fahren Sie die Adriaküste entlang, nachdem Sie von Ihrem Hotel abgeholt wurden. Biegen Sie landeinwärts durch das malerische Neretva-Flussdelta bis nach Pocitelj ab. Die Festungsstadt Pocitelj ist ein gut erhaltenes Beispiel orientalischer Architektur und liegt am Hang über dem Fluss.
Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte waren Mostar und die Region der Treffpunkt der Kulturen und Religionen, die heute deutlich sichtbare Spuren hinterlassen haben. Mostar wurde nach den Brückenwärtern (Mostari) benannt, die die Alte Brücke über den Fluss Neretva bewachten.
Die Kravica-Wasserfälle sind eine der schönsten Naturstätten in der herzegowinischen Region Bosnien und Herzegowina. Es gibt auch die zusätzlichen Attraktionen Camping, Schwimmen und ein kleines Café, in dem man einfach sitzen, plaudern und die allgemeine Schönheit des Ortes genießen kann.

Ivo was extremely kind and a wonderful driver. We had a few people in our party with mobility issues, and he was extremely attentive making sure everyone was taken care of. Mostar was lovely, although be sure to bring cash (Euros are fine) as most shops and restaurants do not accept cards in Mostar.

Niko was a perfect driver. He speaks excellent English. He drives late model well maintained car. He knows all the border crossings and found one with no delay. This can be a big issue if you get stuck behind tour buses. Niko was very knowledgeable about the history of the region , and although he is not a guide, he prepared us well for what we would see in Mostar and also gave us a good recommendation for a restaurant for lunch. Al in all a very enjoyable day!

We had an amazing day trip from Dubrovnik to Bosnia, visiting Mostar and the stunning Kravica waterfalls. The journey was smooth and well-organized from start to finish. At the suggestion of our hotel we used this service for a day trip to Mostar and Medjugorje! Our driver Dennis was fantastic!!! He was a wealth of knowledge regarding Croatia and the sharing of his life experiences from the war made the trip even more special! He made both stops easy on us and was very flexible. After Mostar he took us for lunch to a winery in Bosnia that was excellent!!! This company also arranged a private local guide for us in Mostar and he did a great job as well.
We had fun - Mostar tour was great, local guide (Mirna) was terrific - our driver/guide Denis was very personable - one suggestion, go to waterfalls first because crowds were bad in the afternoon
I booked this trip for my mother in law to be able to go back to the town where her grandfather came from. I will be honest and say I was nervous about the trip. I was nervous if that region was safe, if I had chosen a reputable company, what would the border crossing be like, and whether or not we can make it back to our cruise ship in time. From the moment we booked, the communition with Niko was great. He always responded in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. Our driver, Denis, put us all of my worries at ease the moment we met him. He was an extremely kind person with a wealth of knowledge on his country. You can tell he loved his country and was very proud of it. He has an interesting story and we enjoyed hearing so much from him. He even made sure to include our teen and young adult child in the conversations and helped to keep everyone engaged. Plus the car we got picked up in was very clean and had great air conditioning! Denis got us to Mostar and passed us off to Dino, a Mostar guide. Dino was extremely knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information to us about Mostar. He was great! Dino took us to the restaurant that Denis booked for us for lunch. It was amazing. We had a view of the Mostar bridge and even got to witness some jumpers. It was beautiful and the food was delicious! The restaurant was called Urban. I never once felt unsafe. Denis did an excellent job of getting us across the borders and most importantly he got us back to the ship with a minute to spare! We were the last ones to the ship and laughed about it but thanks to Denis amd Dino we had an amazing time! I highly recommend this tour and these guides. These were some of the nicest people we met on our travels that went above and beyond to make sure we had the experience we came for.
