Reiseverlauf

This was an amazing walking tour of Córdoba. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable on the history of all the places we visited. Easy walking for all abilities. The highlight is the Mesquita, but the other sites are fabulous too. The company is excellent with their communication. Highly recommend
The two guides we had were very nice and explained everything wonderfully! I would do it again
The tour hit the main points of the city and the mosque/cathedral is a must see. The guide was very informative.
My paradise destination where life is good, we chose the spring season to attend the Equestrian show of El Kado, a Flamenco guitarist at the Royal stables of Córdoba.
A great way to see Cordoba! The highlight was the Mosque Cathedral visit but Azahara made the whole tour enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and engaged us with her storytelling. Traveler advice - plan for heat and walking - but manageable with many shade breaks. Side note for those that want a true Cordoba experience, take Azahara’s recommendation and visit Moriles Ribera for lunch after the tour.
Yes, the tour company told us the Alcazar was closed and we couldn’t visit it, but that was less than 24 hours before we were to go. We also understand the closure was beyond their control, but they knew there is no opening date, so should they be selling more tours that they may not be able to fulfil? Also, the ‘substitutes’ (a patio and the Roman baths), just didn’t make up for the Alcazar. Having said that, the tour that we did have was fine. It lasted for four hours and thankfully there was a break for water (and ice cream)! The mosque and cathedral were spectacular. I would 100% recommend that part of the tour. The Jewish quarter, patio and Roman baths we should have done ourselves. The guide went into so much detail that at times, it was hard to maintain interest - and I can listen to historical narratives all day! People actually wandered off. I’d suggest people wait until the Alcazar reopens and you will get what you expect and pay for.
Jose was informative and provided an awesome experience for getting to see what Cordoba has to offer.
Although our tour guide was excellent, we felt the tour (almost four hours) was a bit long, especially since we weren’t able to visit Alcazar and the gardens. The baths and the stables did not really substitute well. The tour of the Mosque/Cathedral was excellent, but we wished it wasn’t at the end of the tour.
Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Mosque-Cathedral tour and appreciated your guide's work throughout the visit. Regarding the Alcázar, its temporary closure is due to the ongoing renovation works being carried out by the monument itself and is unfortunately beyond our control. To ensure guests could still enjoy a complete historical experience of Córdoba, alternative visits were included as part of the itinerary. We appreciate your comments regarding the order and duration of the tour, and we're glad that despite the changes you were able to enjoy the highlights of the city. Best regards, OWAY Tours Team
Incredible experience throughout. Kindly received a text the day before informing me of a slight change in itinerary due to refurb of the Alcazar and also confirming the start point. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable too and provided information during the full experience. You could either stand by the guide and listen to them or due to the provision of headsets had the freedom to wander a little and explore the near vicinity while listening. Only word of caution was we thought this experience was 1.5hrs but actually ended up being 4hrs! A pleasant surprise and even bigger bargain!
Thank you very much for your fantastic review. We're delighted that you enjoyed the experience from start to finish. As you mentioned, we always try to keep our guests informed in advance about any itinerary adjustments related to monument operations. It's also wonderful to hear that you appreciated both the guides' knowledge and the flexibility provided by the headset system, allowing you to enjoy the explanations while exploring the surroundings. We hope to welcome you again on a future visit to Córdoba. Best regards, OWAY Tours Team
The tour was alright, however they reached a day before saying the cathedral is closed on the day of our tour, however we figured when we went there that the cathedral is closed for the year as they are under going construction. It seemed it this was known prior on but the company still sold us tickets to the cathedral and tried to sell it as a last minute change. Had we known this we could have planned something else. 1st part of the tour was good but the second part was disappointing. The company scammed us into getting tickets including the cathedral while it's been closed for a while.
Thank you for your feedback. We believe there may be some confusion regarding the monuments mentioned in your review. The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba is a single monument. The Cathedral is located inside the Mosque-Cathedral itself, and as explained during the tour, both form part of the same visit. At no point did we inform you that the Mosque-Cathedral was closed, as it was open and included in your tour exactly as booked. In fact, you visited the monument and enjoyed the guided tour inside it. The monument that was affected by the closure was the Alcázar, which is a completely different site. As soon as we received confirmation of the situation, we informed participants through the booking platform's chat system and provided the alternative itinerary accordingly. For this reason, we do not understand the statement that tickets were sold for a closed cathedral, as the Cathedral forms part of the Mosque-Cathedral that you visited during the tour. We appreciate your comments regarding the first part of the visit and wish you a pleasant continuation of your travels. Best regards, OWAY Tours Team
