Mosaikwerkstatt in Marrakesch

This workshop was led by master Sediq and translated perfectly by Abdel. We had a great time. After a demonstration of his works we got to try ourselves. They were generous with their time and attention. We made our own mosaic tile and it made us so happy. It felt like we were with friends. Please book this and support local traditions.

Had the best time, Mr Sediq and Abdel were amazing. I would definitely recommend this activity. If I return to Marrakesh I will definitely come back here for another workshop.

Tile making was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it! We got to speak with a true master of the craft, and the two hours we spent there flew by. It was also a great way to escape the midday heat. The hospitality was excellent from start to finish. As two Americans who don’t speak Arabic, we felt completely welcomed and well taken care of

A truly wonderful experience. They explain the entire process of creating the mosaic, from the raw earth to the final colors, including the firing. Then comes the practical part: cutting the stone and each of us making our own little square of mosaic, a lovely decorative piece that can even serve as a trivet. The workshop is authentic and typical: everything is done entirely by hand, without any machines. A total immersion in traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.

Truly a beautiful, authentic experience. We learned so much and we’re grateful to listen to the experience and wisdom of the master. I loved being able to take home what we made, too. Everyone was kind, thoughtful, welcoming, and professional. Water and tea were provided. The drive was air conditioned and an easy thirty minutes from the city. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! Sadiq and Abdel were lovely and guided us through the process with patience and enthusiasm. Definitely the perfect, calming workshop to complete before returning home.

Absolute gem and a must do experience if you are in Marrakech. Siddiq has a vast experience and this is a generational part of his life. Big thanks to Abdul for coordinating and making sure all the information was relayed beautifully!

Abdul was great, he translated what Sadiq was advising me to do. Abdul also kept in touch and was on time. Sadiq was patient and very knowledgeable.

Great hands-on experience with a lovely take home tile at the end. Master craftsman was talented, encouraging and patient. The driver/operator was friendly and helped translate. The workshop was some distance from my hotel near the medina, but the activity included the half hour taxi ride both there and back. Initial tour around the other pottery workshop and kiln were a little unexpected and unnecessary since we had already seen the pottery process in Fez. I would have liked to have know before hand the format of the activity.
