This is a review that does not discuss An activity, but a dinner at the home of Friends. The location is like a movie set, in the high town of San Benedetto del Tronto, home of the architect Aldo Ciufici and his wife Patrizia. The dinner focused on a peculiar element Of the sea of San Benedetto: "scampi, cod, anchovies, calamari. Everything was paired with local wines. Accompanied by a musical background. We were left Speechless. A true Ode to Joy
The experience with a local family in Padova was very delightful as we made pasta from scratch while enjoying some local wine and cicchetti. I had dinner with the host along with his brother and mother which was enjoyable. The conversation was interesting as we wondered about each other's way of life. We used Google translate much of the time during dinner which was not a problem for me. The host spoke English. The pasta with pesto was very good along with homemade tiramasu. The meal was simple, but good. I was solo so it was a good fit for me as something different to experience. You may need to take a good walk or a taxi depending on your accommodation location.
It was such a privilege to be welcomed into a local family’s home. We loved meeting David and his mother and learning how to make homemade pasta. A highlight of our trip for our family. Thank you for your kindness David!
Chef David was a wonderful host. When we arrived there was a lovely array of welcome snacks & prosecco. David taught us to make gnocchi and tiramisu. The meal was delicious. We had a terrific time and would recommend this experience.
David prepared a pasta dish I had never heard or seen before it was fabulous! We had dinner with his mom and it’s was fun and multi tasty. His home made tiramisu was to die for! He offered two kinds of grappa after dinner…wow! This is a very “throw-back” Padova experience if you are into history of family dining!
Simone was amazing. He welcomed me into his home and proceed to show me how to prepare an awesome meal. We had appetizers, bread sticks, bruschetta, panzella. Shared some cava. He demonstrated multiple pasta types and I got to sample them all, and they were all delicious. The spinach ricotta tortellini was my favorite with the alfredo being a close second. When it got time for the main course with eggplant and chicken I was so full I did not eat very much. It was wonderful but I over enjoyed the wonderful pasta.
We had the most amazing Italian cooking experience with Catia! She welcomed us into her cozy home and shared her cooking skill, delicious recipes and fascinating stories about the recipes, the region, and her life as an Italian. Catia is so fun and interesting and skilled! And the food…. molto delizioso e bello!
Not recommended!!!! The food was delicious, but the provider only gave the host's name at the last minute and only after asking. It was also "advertised" that those involved could speak English...unfortunately wrong. It wouldn't have worked without a well-known translation app. The food was more than overpriced for the price quoted! Not a second time
Dear Sebastian, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the food, but we’re very sorry for the last-minute host details, language issues, and pricing concerns. We’ll review these points to improve clarity and the overall guest experience.
I absolutely LOVED my cooking experience with Catia. I learned so much about the food and food culture of the Veneto region. I stepped out of my food comfort zone and loved every single flavor I tried. Catia is so welcoming and kind. She invites you into her home and then teaches you how to create a divinely delicious meal. I got to make the hollow precisely 4cm long gargati pasta that you can't even get in stores because no one has the machine with the right "bronze die" to make it! It was an unforgettable experience and truly one of the highlights of my trip to Italy. Catia was even so kind to come pick me up when I couldn't find a taxi to get me to her home! I would highly recommend this experience! Go spend some time with Catia!!
The hostess, Catia, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local cuisine. She shared family cooking stories and made a delicious dinner complimented by a wonderful wine. It was fun to be in a local’s home vs in a restaurant for a change. I am confident I can recreate what I learned from the cooking demonstration. The menu was vegetarian. I am a meat eater. I did not realize the menu was vegetarian until I was back in my hotel reflecting on the evening. The meal was so tasty and interesting that I did not miss the meat!
