Milwaukee Historic Downtown Selbstgeführte Wanderung

We could never figure out where or how this was so to start. Marker 333? Never found it and didn’t know what to do so basically we didn’t get the historical tour.

Bring your head set and be prepared to spend a big part of the day seeing everything. I learned a lot about Milwaukee history. It is a beautiful city.

Loved the narrator. Loved the additional info that was given in between stops - the narrator continued to tell the history as I was walking. The directions were very clear. Hands down would recommend to anyone.

Overall, it’s a good tour. My first time to do such a tour without an actual tour guide. I did it by myself, solo traveler. It works with your own pace. I stopped many times to explore, then continued withe the tour. That’s the biggest advantage. The description and stories are fun. The directions are not all clear, and can be confusing. You kind of have to rely on your own judgment. I did it with the tour app and my own google map to figure things out.

This was the first time I’ve taken an audio tour. You do need to download and set up some things to make it work. I enjoyed the narration and information it presented. Unfortunately no chance to ask a question. It did drop out 3 times and I had to bring it back up. Just a minor inconvenience. I’ll probably try self guided again if no other option.

Easy walking tour with good historical notes and stories. I walked on a Saturday so a few of the buildings I would have gone into were closed. I also went farther to a few places that should have been added.

Directions were not clear when. navigating from 1 site to the next. Could not find the first meeting point, 333. construction in city made 1 point difficult yo navigate and dangerous. Exact addresses would be better than markers. Thought it was going to be GPS driven and but virtual tour. Would not recommend.

It was a great way to get our bearings in a new city. The directions were very clear and the narrative was amusing and informative. I will def look for this opportunity in another city.

We flew into Chicago to meet a friend for the day. Those plans fell through so we had to find a last minute activity. A self-guided walking tour of Milwaukee just a few hours drive? Okay, why not? We’ve heard of Milwaukee! This turned out to be one of the best tours we’ve ever done and now we LOVE Milwaukee! The tour guide was entertaining and informative. The directions were detailed and clear. We could pause the commentary to explore a little deeper, to get a bite to eat, or to shop. We turned the hour tour into a 5-hour deep-dive into everything Milwaukee and had a blast! What a lovely day.

This is the first time I tried an Audio Self Guided Tour for myself and my son, so I'm sure there's a bit of a learning curve. The verbal directions for how to proceed between spots was ambiguous enough that I ended up putting each stop into maps separately and walking there, then starting the recording. Other than that I liked the ability to start and stop the tour at our leisure, and to not have to make small talk with a tour guide. It was a good alternative to the traditional tours and the sights selected were interesting. We even stopped half way through, took a nap, then headed back out to finish the second half. That made for an easier day!
