Boat clean, comfortable. Staff and guides friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and professional
We were lucky with the weather, it was a beautiful day in a beautiful place. The guide was informative. The parking was over the top expensive- $10/hr. We thought you should have got free parking with the amount you pay for the cruise. The cafe had absolutely no water so you couldn't go to the toilet or wash your hands. We were told "they have run out of water" Funny, as on the cruise the guide said all the water, right down to the water used in the coffee comes from the waterfall there. You think they could get some to the cafe and information area. There was a portable toilet in the carpark... too bad if you had mobility issues because it was on a trailer.
Had a great time out on the sound. It was very windy and didn’t see any wildlife but still had a great time. We did go in winter, it was sunny but very choppy. Beautiful views and very friendly crew.
We travelled 5hrs to get our 11am due to road closures & blizzard conditions. They would not wait if 5mins late so had to book 1:30pm. Arrived 1250 after hanging in cafe for over 1hr. We got pass & told could board 1:15. 1:45 finally allowed on to an old run down rusty boat. We ordered food from cafe then 2:15 they announced not going as 90 Asian passages arrived late & didn’t hv 90 seats for them! Then said since 60knots to windy for people to sit outside. Go pure nz more money lovely boat & they left 1::30 not to windy v then. So livid we travelled from Australia for this cruise. Realnz is a tour company with buses they get priority to self drive!! Avoid this company! they let my partner order beer 5mins before cancelling knowing he was over the limit. The staff were apologetic, but we had a 10hr drive there & back & the Asian tour had priority ridiculous. One chance in our life time to see Milford sound.
Our guide is wonderful, staff on ship are great
An amazing experience from start to finish. The transfer was comfortable and well organised including amenities offering, and our guide, Ash, was outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate throughout the journey. The cruise itself was the highlight, through one of the most beautiful and still untouched natural settings in the world. The service on board was friendly yet professional, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The food offering was very good and provided a nice opportunity to sample some New Zealand flavours. My only suggestion would be to offer a more personalised dining experience rather than shared platters. Overall, a truly memorable experience that I would highly recommend.
Our booking was thru RealNZ for the cruise aboard The Haven. Fantastic cruise, the captain was hilarious so glad i booked with them. The whole experience was an Unbelievable and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend anyone ever thinking of seeing Milford Sound, do it because this will be one experience you will never ever forget.
Great crew on the Haven, we also saw dolphins which was an awesome treat. Truly a fantastic experience.
Beautiful experience through the rural backcountry of the South Island! A good introduction to other nature excursions to revisit later. The boat tour on the sound is filled with natural wonder. Very fun!
We had a great experience and highly recommend the Mariner vessel for a boat with great character. The crowd size during a May morning was relatively small which made the whole experience comfortable and relaxing. Recommend the 11am time-slot on a clear day as the tour crowds grew by 1pm on our return, making the terminal very crowded.
