Mitternachtssonnen-Kajak - Northern Explorer

It all started with a research to determine what to see when travelling to Lofoten. A picture and a short text. A little research and such a kayak tour jumped to our bucket list. We were fortunate to have some of our very good friends joining us - it made it all much better. We had Israel as our guide. He is just great and a very skilled guide. He took us by the hand and heart. He told about safety and how to behave when sitting in a kayak. He also told us about what we saw when paddling towards a rocky island where we should spend the night. When we put up the tent Israel prepared the food and the bonfire. Next he took care about the breakfast. Taking such a tour in a kayak see the sunset and sunrise, have a host like Israel is just a must do if you are close to Lofoten Thanks to Israel - we might see you somewhere else in the world. The 28th-29th. In August 2026 we met - a couple - Israel - our guide, who was supposed to take us on a kayak trip in the area off Eggum. Both of us had never tried kayaking before and were quite nervous, but Israel calmly and with a big smile guided us into the two double kayaks, and once we were out on the water, we couldn't think of anything but how beautiful it was. Israel told about the islands' history, the sea animals, and took us out to the island where we were supposed to spend the night. When we had pitched the tents, he had lit a fire, and we had great campfire food while enjoying the sun on the horizon. The next morning breakfast was ready, and after a cup of hot coffee we sat in our kayaks again on the way back. The sea was more turbulent this time, but again we felt safe with Israel's fine guidance and stories. When we reached land we were completely thrilled by the fantastic experience, and I can only recommend everyone to do the same. /Christina
