Merapi Jeep Volcano Private Tour und Prambanan-Sonnenuntergang

Hate leaving bad reviews when I had good guides and the places on the tour were really cool as ell but when the tour is misrepresented it’s also not really cool. The itinerary outlined 2 hours at various stops at the merapi sight plus 3 hours exploring Mt Merapi so 5 hours which I assumed included the drive there. After a total of 3 hours from leaving the hotel we were on the way to the temple for the last portion of the trip. When I pointed that out to the company they said sorry you misunderstood but I didn’t it was clearly outlined. The jeep portion was 10 minutes on a dirt trail and the rest riding on roads in a jeep. It was also supposed to be a sunset at the temple but the temple closes at 430 and there was no special ticket for staying after like they offer at Borobudur. So basically every component of the trip was not as advertised. The first stop 10 minutes in is as close as you get to the mountain and then it’s all downhill from there so if you’re going to really explore Merapi as I was, you will be very disappointed. Sadly I had a great tour to Seligriyo with this same company but after the way they handled my complaints on this one I wouldn’t recommend them.

It was a pleasure to have Mr. Ervad Aryanto as our guide. He was punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. He made the tour a genuinely enjoyable experience. I highly recommend him for an amazing tour.

I had a great day on this tour. Ms Estri made sure I was well looked after and kept me informed throughout the day. The drive from town up to the jeep base camp is nice and gives a glimpse of some more rural settings. A nice contrast to the bustle of Yogyakarta. The jeep tour was nice and especially so if you’re interested or curious to learn more about Merapi volcano. The tour is well paced with some stops and nice rides in between. Prambanan temple is a must if you visit Yogyakarta region so it was convenient to do a tour which combines the jeep ride with a temple visit. Even though it was raining it was very enjoyable and impressive. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time. It was good fun travelling in the jeep to Merapi volcano. The guide was a local person from the village that had been destroyed by an eruption recently. He was very pleasant and instructive with a good use of English. Look out for the drive through water hazards. Consider a waterproof bag for your valuables! The pace of the trip was relaxed. The temples were excellent after lunch. Lunch wasn’t in the price of the ticket but our guide Etsi took us to an excellent restaurant. It was well presented. great food and good value for money. Etsi ferried us about all day from 11-00 am pick up to 19-00 drop off. She was helpful, patient and charming. Her driving was good also in the busy Yogyakarta traffic. A great day. Thank you. Tom.

We had an awesome experience and the later start time suited us perfectly as we were able to enjoy a good breakfast at our hotel before setting off on our private tour. We were met by our friendly English-speaking driver, Adhiet who was informative, flexible and accommodating. There wasn’t a dull moment in our 45 mins car ride to the Merapi base where our adventure on a Jeep began. Our Jeep driver, Aldi was fun and he took really good pictures and videos for us, always pointing out the scenic spots and telling us how to pose 📸 I especially love my pose with the owl at Sisa Hataku mini museum 🦉 Zipping about on a jeep across the river at the foothill of Merapi was fun and exciting! Guess that would be the highlight for most people. On our way to the Prambanan temple, we took on Adhiet’s recommendation to stop by for a break at a local restaurant - Srawung. I’m glad we did as it is a nice restaurant located among the rice fields. We really enjoyed the food and coffee in this scenic place.. The price is very reasonable, too. It was awesome to catch the sunset at Prambanan temple and took some beautiful pictures of this UNESCO world heritage site at the golden hour. We are really pleased with this tour itinerary and it’s great to have a private driver like Adhiet who just moved along with our flow. Highly recommended👍

Very good guide, so patient and nice! He speaks English well. The whole trip was very smooth and comfortable. You don't have get up too early and hurry to see many spots. It was a great experience and the guide gives you a lot of explanations. When you have other questions they will be happy to answer everything. Sadly I didn’t see the volcano but you have to be lucky with the weather. Prambanan is certainly worth a visit and breathtaking!

Funny and interesting trip. Funny Jeep tour with river crossing and afterwards visit of the impressive temple of Prambanan. There was enough time for the visit of the main tempel and the three additional temple"s

The whole experience was amazing! Very good organised and our driver Jacky was very good! Very easy to communicate with, polite, taking photos and videos of us and sharing tips! Our Jeep driver Taufik was also top, we will never forget the river experience that he gave us!!! Make sure to ask for both of them when you book this activity!
