Mittelalterliches Schloss San Miguel Abendessen und Show in Südteneriffa

This is a lovely night out the highlight of our holiday the exterior is a large castle and on the interior you meet the king and queen then you are brought in to the arena to teams yellow and black and there was not only a tornament but a naritive to. You are served soup for starters, chicken for main and ice cream for dessert! The actors are great and make you feel like you really are in medieval times. If you are in tenerife and looking for some thing to do, this is your answer

Very entertaining, Good value for money.

Truthfully I have very mixed feelings on this that lean towards the negative, mostly in terms of animal welfare The good - We were picked up promptly & the guide was lovely. The performers are clearly very talented. The animals physically LOOK well looked after. The negative - Once you are in, there is no guidance on what to do and where to go. A good amount of people ( us included) went and sat in the room straight ahead the contained a bunch of tables. It was only after a little while we realised ( as other people went to leave the room) that we were meant to be queuing for another room. The food was bang average, not good but not terrible. We bought a bucket of beers in advance that took a solid 30 minutes into the show to get the attention of someone to be provided with. The storyline was a bit weird and very disjointed and hard to follow at points esp when it was repeated in English and Spanish (appreciate this is necessary though) The worst part for me - The animals welfare. 2 of the horses were stood outside in the roasting heat at the start whilst people took photos with them ( hopefully they are rotated so they aren't outside for too long) As I said before, physically they look like they are taken care of but my god their body language you can tell they are heavily uncomfortable and are being forced to participate (as soon as I saw someone with a whip, I was out). This goes for the bird of prey used too who also seemed reluctant to do what they wanted. The final straw for me was the incredibly loud fireworks outside at the end. I can only hope the horses are well shielded from the noise as if they aren't, they would be terrified. Overall - Performers are talented but in terms of animal welfare it's a hard miss.

A great night's family entertainment.

I have been coming to this show regularly since I was a child, so around 20 years! It has been a staple for me, and I have watched it through the years (my last time was in 2019!) I booked direct through the website and feel the ticket cost is reasonable for the entertainment, food and transfers. The coach was very simple, and we had contact from the event to confirm our attendance prior to the show. The coach trip was very quick and streamlined, stopping only at confirmed pick ups. This makes a difference as I remember in previous years you’d spent a long time stopping off at various pick-up points. Upon arriving, I noticed there was no knights on horses ‘guarding’ the moat as there has been previously. Not an issue, but I always used to find this helped set the tone and bring excitement. Entering into the castle, the bar area is quite small and I wonder if this could possibly be extended to enable more bar staff to get through queues. There is now an expanded merchandise shop, with prices being a bit all over the place (€30 for a mug!). Upon sitting, it was the same as many previous years where you sit on a bench with drinks. It is difficult to ask for any extra drinks or bottles if you need them, but a lady will come round eventually to offer 4 beers for €9. I see people complain about the food, and I would say it is pretty standard. You can’t expect five star dining or a large menu, it has to be something relatively plain and simple which is in theme and can be served to a mass amount of people. Sure, it wasn’t the nicest meal I’ve ever had, but it was completely fine. After years of going, we always have something to eat prior to going to the event and I’d suggest this to anyone thinking of going if you want to make sure you are full! In regards to the show, I have noticed it has been significantly thinned out over the years. A few years ago, there would be segments of a bird of prey being shown off, a trained dog showing skills, excellent dressage from the horses. It really felt bulked out with constant entertainment that built to the ‘joust’ and ‘fighting’. This has been scrapped, and now they show a projection of a video which was hard to understand. A ‘crone’ also entered the arena and spoke, but I don’t really know why or what it was related to… it felt out of place in honesty and took you out of the vibe! The jousting and ‘fighting’ felt quite short, and it didnt feel as exciting and immersive as before. I also remember - this is many many years ago!! - there would be entertainment after the show itself which was good fun. It’s a shame to see such a large stage and seating area go to waste. The end of the show seemed to come quickly, and then it was time to leave. I recall there being more interaction with the crowd from the performers too. The ‘knights’ would come into the stalls, goad the opposing team, shake hands with their supporters, even give roses out to girls! This was always good fun, but this time it felt they rushed off and didn’t take the time to get the crowd buzzed up. It was still a very good atmosphere, however I think my tradition of visiting no matter my age every time I come to Tenerife may have come to an end. It feels as though the show has aged, as have I, with the jam-packed entertainment from the moment you enter to leaving being slowly faded out. Regardless, I will always recommend this show to anyone visiting. It is such a fun evening, and it is something very different and unique. If you are considering attending, remember to bring high energy. I saw lots of people sitting quietly and observing, this show is to be loud and make noise and have fun! It definitely adds to the performance and experience. Thank you for many years of brilliant evenings, you have been a staple in my childhood and adulthood! I hope that in time the show will gather back all of the dropped segments, or even add new exciting pieces, and then I will be back in that bib ready to cheer! Until then, wishing you the very best and I’m excited for all the people who will get to experience the excitement for the first time.

An unbelievable experience for all ages. Really enjoyed this trip. From the start all staff were very attentive. The show itself was incredible. Would definitely recommend

Enjoyed the show but food was not edible and wine undrinkable. Too expensive for what you get
