Der Botanische Garten von Pamplemousses ist eine beliebte Touristenattraktion in Pamplemousses, in der Nähe von Port Louis, Mauritius, und der älteste botanische Garten der südlichen Hemisphäre. Berühmt für seinen langen Teich mit riesigen Seerosen (Victoria amazonica), wurde der Garten 1770 von Pierre Poivre (1719 - 1786) angelegt und erstreckt sich über eine Fläche von rund 37 Hektar. Neben den riesigen Seerosen gibt es im Garten auch Gewürze, Ebenhölzer, Zuckerrohr und 85 Palmensorten aus Mittelamerika, Asien, Afrika und den Inseln rund um den Indischen Ozean. Viele Bäume wurden von Weltführern und Königen gepflanzt, darunter Prinzessin Margaret, Gräfin von Snowdon, Indira Gandhi, François Mitterrand und Robert Mugabe.
Caudan, wie es heute allgemein bekannt ist, war das erste große Einkaufszentrum dieser Art auf der Insel Mauritius. Es ist bis heute ein ikonisches Einkaufsziel für Einheimische und Touristen. In der Mall finden Besucher die neuesten Modegeschäfte und Trends, einen beliebten Kunst- und Handwerksmarkt, der als Craft Market bekannt ist, Fachgeschäfte, die einzigartige lokale Waren wie Replikschiffe, indische Kleidungsstücke, lokal hergestellten Schmuck oder Kunstgemälde von lokalen Künstlern verkaufen . Das Einkaufszentrum bietet auch Kinos, einen Yachthafen, eine Buchhandlung, Restaurants und Cafés, ein Museum mit zwei der seltensten Briefmarken der Welt, ein Casino und steuerfreie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Touristen. Obwohl Caudan das erste Einkaufszentrum auf der Insel ist, konnte es mit den Trends Schritt halten und sich als modernes Einkaufszentrum am Wasser behaupten.
Die Zitadelle von Port-Louis wurde im 16. Jahrhundert von den Spaniern erbaut und im 17. Jahrhundert von den Franzosen in Port-Louis (Frankreich) umgebaut.
Grand-Baie (oder manchmal auch Grand Bay) ist ein Küstendorf in Mauritius im Distrikt Rivière du Rempart, der westliche Teil liegt ebenfalls im Distrikt Pamplemousses.

We booked this excursion via GetYourGuide for an amount of €86, to which we added €64.86 for the SUV driver option. At the time of booking, the description clearly indicated that a guide was included in the service. However, upon our arrival, no guide was present. It was explained to us that the driver was also supposed to act as a guide. In reality, we only received a driver service: no real guide service, no guided tour, and no accompaniment corresponding to what was advertised in the description. We therefore paid a total of €150.86 for a service that does not correspond to the one we booked and paid for. I do not recommend it
Everything went perfectly from the pickup to the tour itself. Our driver Avi was very nice and accommodating. When my husband injured his leg, he took very good care of him! We were able to coordinate the tour individually with Avi and see what we wanted. It was a fantastic trip and we had a lot of fun with Avi. We can only recommend it!
It was an amazing, excellent tour, our guide: AVI was amazing (friendly, great sense of humour, knowledgeable and helpful) created a wonderful atmosphere ; we recommend him.
I chose this tour because of the private, customizable nature, and the ability to see so much of Mauritius. I was not disappointed and I had one of the best days! My driver, Avi, was completely open to my requests and made it an incredibly fun day. For me, the views of the topography, the incredible beach drive and breaks were ideal. I enjoyed the botanical gardens, I especially recommend the pink 🪷 lotus. THANK YOU, Avi for all the information about Mauritius!! Highly recommend for solo travelers.
It was our last day at once every minute was counted. The driver arrived 45 minutes late in the morning for the last mission of the day. We arranged to meet at a Parking lot at 3:15 pm. It arrived at 4pm another 45 minutes wasted in the day it is an hour and a half lost as there are two of us with my wife, we lost three hours on our last day. It is inadmissible if you can obtain monetary compensation from me. Do not hesitate otherwise you are not about to see me again. Have a nice end to the day.
Baboo was exceptional from start to finish: very professional guide, attentive, punctual and with clear and interesting explanations throughout the day. Thanks to him, the visit to the north of Mauritius is fluid, well organized and pleasant. The program is complete and balanced: botanical garden of Pamplemousses, citadel of Port-Louis, Cap Malheureux . Private transport is comfortable and allows you to fully enjoy every stop. An excellent activity, perfectly supervised by Baboo, ideal to discover the north of the island in complete serenity.
