Maui Ma'alaea Sunset Prime Rib oder Fresh Island Fish Dinner Cruise

We had a lovely evening on the Calypso for our sunset cruise! From the moment we arrived everyone was welcoming and friendly, from the crew, to the photographer, and the musician who provided beautiful songs which enhanced the ambience of the evening! Unfortunately our dinners were meh.. The staff was wonderful and attentive, the drinks were great, but entrees were disappointing…after reading such rave reviews even some 5 star from “foodies”, we were expecting a higher quality. Nevertheless, the sunset was spectacular and we had an evening that we will remember for a long time!

The boat, crew and food was amazing. The crew were very accommodating and tentative. The prime rib was so delicious. Save room for dessert (chocolate cake or cheesecake) it’s amazing also. This was a wonderful dinner cruise. The girl entertaining was really good also. She gave shout outs for birthdays, anniversaries and graduates.

Great cruise, we had prime rib, excellent. There was a mix up with our cruise time, we changed dates the day before on line but it didn't get to the boat crew, but even with a full boat they fit us in, can't say enough about how accommodating they were, Thank you

Good trip, mediocre food and drinks. We had the fish which was good the sides were boiled veggies and white rice. The Mai Tais were ok but a bit weak. They ran out of dessert options so could not pick. Seating was pre- assigned and not on 1st come 1st serve basis. We were seated on the 2nd floor. The stairs are narrow but have railings. Anyone with mobility issues should ask to be placed on bottom deck which is where the restrooms are also located. The 1st and 2nd floor have plastic window covering to reduce the wind which impedes a good view. You have to go to 3rd floor for the view which was worth it. Be ready for the wind. Overall a good trip experience, just not a great dinner. Parking was easy and right across boarding site. There is a small fee for parking that you pay with your phone.

We enjoyed beautiful sunset and delicious dinner; however, we had trouble finding the dock, so allow extra time to get to the meeting spot.

We arrived early, thinking a closer place in line would get us a better seat. When they were giving the safety briefing before boarding they indicated that seating was assigned. We boarded and then after giving our name were told it was open seating, anywhere that didn’t have a salad and place setting. When my wife inquired, she was told that those tables were for parties with reservations. But wait! We had a reservation. We were then told that tables were reserved for large parties and we could choose anywhere open on the boat that didn’t have a salad. Suffice it to say, there were no seats without crashing someone else’s party. It went downhill from there when we sat next to a party that was going to have a marriage proposal. They were less than thrilled. So- party of 2, find others to go with or don’t go.

Food was mediocre and cost too high for what’s offered. Unfortunately, something out of your control was the inclement weather.

The crew were all very friendly. Their service was great! We also loved the live entertainment! Great experience!
