Diese Miniwanderung beginnt am Besucherzentrum und führt Sie zu einem Aussichtspunkt mit einem tollen Blick auf den Krater. Der Spaziergang ist nur 0,5 Meilen, und es lohnt sich. Nehmen Sie sich Zeit und atmen Sie tief durch, die Luft ist viel dünner da oben.
An diesem Aussichtspunkt sehen Sie den Kraterboden aus einer ganz anderen Perspektive. Es ist definitiv einen Stopp wert!

- Sie sind dabei, ein fantastisches Abenteuer auf den Gipfel des höchsten Vulkans von Maui zu unternehmen, aber es gibt ein paar Dinge, die Sie über die Tour wissen sollten, bevor Sie beginnen.
- Sie müssen eine Online Reservierung vornehmen und $1 bezahlen, wenn Sie den Park für Sonnenaufgang besuchen (zwischen 3 Uhr morgens und 7 Uhr morgens).
- Packen Sie warme Kleidung ein - - die Temperaturen können am Gipfel unter den Gefrierpunkt fallen. (Kein Witz!)
- Die Tour beginnt und endet in Kahului. Wenn Sie aus den Resorts Ka'anapali oder Lahaina in West-Maui kommen, sind es etwa 45 Autominuten bis zum Start in Kahului.
- Im Park gibt es nirgendwo Lebensmittel zu kaufen. Packen Sie ein Picknick oder essen Sie, bevor Sie gehen.
- Der Eintritt in den Haleakala Nationalpark beträgt $30 pro Auto - - Sie können mit Kredit / Debit oder digitaler Zahlungsmethode bezahlen. Oder kaufen Sie Ihren Pass im Voraus auf Recreation.gov
- Die Sonne geht im Winter um etwa 7 Uhr und im Sommer um 5 Uhr 30 auf.
- Rechnen Sie mit etwa 4 - 6 Stunden auf der Tour.
- Wir empfehlen den Start von Kahului gegen 4:30 Uhr (je nach Jahreszeit)
- Reisende müssen ein Smartphone besitzen, das mit der Shaka Fortgeschrittener App kompatibel ist.
- Die App muss heruntergeladen und die Tour vor Anreise eingelöst werden.

This self-guided audio tour was perfect for us!! We were able to go at our own pace and soak up all the majestic beauty of Haleakala! It was magnificent, the audio was spot on with what we were seeing. It included local stories and so many facts about the geography and history which gave a special meaning to our trip. It was a wonderful way to see all the beauty that Maui has to offer!! Thank you for giving us a fabulous day!!
We did appreciate the information provided over the course of the tour. The beginning of the audio tour was very confusing. There wasn’t a definite address to start the tour so we drove around wasting time. Once the GPS connected the audio tour started. We appreciated the suggestion of checking out the “artsy” cowboy town of Mowako (?) . We had dinner at the Public House restaurant and it was delicious!

Meeting point to begin tour a complete joke as there is no such physical point resulting in a very frustrating start to the tour

This is an awesome guide. Make reservation before you go. The directions and narration from point to point was on point. I would use shaka guid if I ever travel to other places.

To whom it may concern... the morning of your- there were no instructions on how to obtain audio tour. Left message with you all No response. I'm hoping for a full refund Thank you. Luau was wonderful though

Unfortunately unusable for us. The audio guide requires a separate "redeem code", which is not included in anything Viator sends. In the instructions there's a line saying you have to email or call for the code. I ordered and emailed the night before a sunrise visit, and they didn't email back until 9am when we were already done. There is basically no reason to buy this through Viator. It just adds a middle-man and complication. The vendor obviously is doing this as a sort of advertising mechanism, but it's not well implemented at all. I can't comment on the quality of the guide itself since I never used it. Their email response time was reasonable, it just shouldn't have been necessary and was unexpected. It's a shame--they superficially seem like a nice company offering a reasonable product.

I can totally understand how frustrating it could be to not be able to take the tour you purchased because the app requires the redeem code generated by our system for purchases made from other websites like Viator and TripAdvisor. Breathtaking view! Go early to see the stars also! Remember a sweatshirt or blanket-we used hotel towels. National Park rangers were very informative! The audio stories and facts were definitely worth it!!

The tour was extremely well narrated - GPS was accurate, lots of advance notice and then reminders, commentaries were timely and interesting, nice voice and good sense of humour, and even musical interludes were nicely done with good variety. I will certainly try another tour from Shaka.
