Materuni-Wasserfälle, Kaffeetour und heiße Quellen von Kikuletwa (Chemka).

Beschreibung

Booked this and so much was poor information. Travel time was far greater. But worse the hiking road was wet and like ice. The volcanic soil when wet became extremely slippery. The 45 minute hike became a 2 hour hike with a high risk of falling. There should be a disclaimer about the risk of weather. From Arusha, this became a 2hr+ ride out and a 2 + hour hike. Nothing like the description.
We really enjoyed our tour. Our guide Johnny was a winner. He was very social, funny, informative. The falls were breathtaking. Definitely worth it if you're around!!!
We had a fantastic experience with Kareem as our driver and guide to the Materuni Waterfalls, the local coffee farm, and the Chemka Hot Springs! We started the day at Materuni after a lovely transfer there with Kareem. Our local guide Gody (Fetty) was full of knowledge of the local Chaga traditions and foods. He was also very funny and a great photographer. The hike to the waterfalls wasn’t overly difficult, but you will need to walk on some logs and use a walking stick. It is quite muddy so I would highly recommend you wear the rain boots they suggest because your shoes will get quite dirty. After the hike the Chaga tribe made us lunch specializing in banana flavors and offered locally made banana beer, wine, and schnapps. The coffee tour was very fun with song and dance. The local children took videos and photos and their photography skills were crazy good! The coffee was very good. After the waterfalls, our driver then took us to Chemka hot springs where our feet were tickled by little fish and we got to go on a swing into the water. The place was very beautiful and serene. Kareem went far above and beyond and took us to a local food spot called Uzunguni City Park for dinner and we tried some local dishes called Chipsi mayai with goat. Kareem really was the highlight of our tour as he provided a lot of local knowledge about each place and he took us to an ATM when needed and to dinner. We are so glad we took this tour and we highly recommend it to anyone!
We had an incredible day with Enock visiting the Materuni Waterfalls and the Hot Springs. From start to finish, everything was perfect! Enock was extremely punctual and incredibly friendly. He explained so much to us, always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves, and even taught us a bit of Swahili. We had a great time in the car, listening to music and chatting. He reliably took us to all our destinations. The hike to the waterfalls was beautiful – it took about 1.5 hours round trip and really wasn't hard to do. Enock also asked repeatedly whether the pace was right or whether we should slow down. Afterward, we learned about the coffee production process and even got to make our own coffee, which was a fantastic and fun experience. The food was amazing – plenty of it and very delicious! There were always enough drinks and snacks available. At the Hot Springs, we even went for a swim. Enock took great care of us there as well, helping us into the water and explaining where it was safe to swim. We had so much fun, and it was both an educational and truly enjoyable day. There is absolutely nothing to criticize – we highly recommend this tour and Enock as a guide!
The trip was fantastic. We visited the village and the waterfalls as well as the hot springs. We took beautiful moments and pictures with us and the whole experience was unique. Our guide Enock was excellent. Very good professional communicative and good kid. We felt very comfortable with him and helped us in all the moments of the trip.
This tour was very interesting, fun and well organized. Our guide/driver Enock was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He realized that I like plants so he made every effort to point out the trees, plants and vegetables for me and explained their use and qualities. Great guide. The hike to the falls was great, we enjoyed it. The coffee experience very interesting, the food was more than abundant for our small group. And to top it off the visit to the hot springs was great to finish the day. The springs are not hot, but very clean and enjoyable. I recommend this full day tour if you are in Arusha. The day before our tour the company contacted me with all the information and things we needed to know and bring. Well done. Thank you Enock for making this tour so much fun.
The day trip was amazing, Joel was such a great guide! We had a day full of laughs and learnt a lot about the area as well as some more Swahili for our vocabulary. Everything was clear on timing and there was wifi available in the car rides between stops which was great. Joel was also very friendly with all the locals and even friends with most of them he even got to have lunch with us which was great
The trip was really great. We had an amazing day with our guide Enock starting with a hike to the Materuni waterfalls which were really impressive, having lunch at the Materuni village with the great experience to learn everything about the process of roasting coffee and enjoying a cup of our owned roasted and brewed coffee. Afterwards we drove to the Chemka Hot Springs to relax in the water and enjoy the beautiful nature. We would definitely recommend the trip. Enock was a great guide, he was very friendly, explained everything we wanted to know about Tanzania, the Arusha region and stopped at many spots for amazing pictures! Thank you again, we had a wonderful day! :)
I recently enjoyed a 4-day private safari tour with Nkollo Tours, which included visits to Materuni Waterfalls, a coffee tour, and Kikuletwa Hot Springs. The experience was unforgettable, offering breathtaking scenery, cultural immersion, and exceptional service. Materuni Waterfalls showcased nature's beauty, the coffee tour provided insights into Tanzanian culture, and Kikuletwa Hot Springs offered rejuvenation. Nkollo Tours' knowledgeable guides ensured a memorable and safe journey, making it a highly recommended safari adventure.
Me and my friend were alone with the guide for all day. It was amazing. Very friendly guide and very receptive to all our demand. Very good tour and very well planned
