Die Sassi von Matera, die 1993 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt wurden, sind ein einzigartiger Ort mit außergewöhnlichem Charme, der davon zeugt, wie der Mensch seit Jahrtausenden in einer märchenhaften Umgebung lebt. Die Sassi von Matera sind durch zahlreiche Gassen mit dem modernen Stadtzentrum verbunden, die einen kontinuierlichen Austausch zwischen diesen beiden städtischen Umgebungen schaffen. Unsere Reise beginnt mit einem Rundgang durch die berühmten „Sassi“ (historische Höhlenwohnungen). Die Tour führt weiter durch die Gassen und Straßen der Sassi, dem natürlichen Schauplatz mehrerer Filme wie „Die Passion Christi“ von Mel Gibson und „Das Evangelium nach Matthäus“ von Pier Paolo Pasolini. Während der Tour betreten Sie ein echtes Höhlenhaus, entdecken eine alte Felsenkirche und genießen einen atemberaubenden Blick über die Murgia-Hochebene.

Booked a half-day private tour after being impressed with previous day’s guide and driver tour. First class experience with Cesare’s expert driving and Andreas’s wealth of knowledge. Matera was both hauntingly beautiful and hauntingly sad as we learned about the extreme poverty of the cave dwellers and their eviction to a different life. There is only one road so it truly is a walking tour and a fascinating one made so much richer by all we learned from Andreas. Highly recommend this tour and the City!

visiting Matera is a life changing experience, incredible to think about how people lived back then.. we took a panoramic tour to see the Murgia
My tour was at 15, they changed it at 16 and said that it was always like this despite being published in another schedule, then when I asked, they indicated that the tour that I hired in Spanish would not be in Spanish as published and finally cancelled without notice. I do not recommend it at all. Maybe the tour is good, I'll never know, but administratively it's a mess.
