Superb stay of 4 days / 3n with a team at the top (David, Jonathan, Edson and Luis). David is a passionate guide who shares his love of nature with talent. The lodges are very spacious and the meals excellent. You can go with your eyes closed!
I was thinking about sharing my experience at all, because I was afraid that maybe some future passangers would decide not to do a tour with this company based on our experience, and the last thing I want to make someones life bad. But I will share it anyway....Im not assessing the rainforest and jungle, thats a 10/10 I am commenting the company and thr organization. My communication with the company was not that satisfying, yes they did answer fast, but the infos were scarce and vague. I needed to ask 10x for the same thing, just to get an adequate answer. I has a feeling, that the owner really dislike me - for example my husband and I MUST pay in cash, case otherwise we cant participate, then they changed the exchange rate (we use Euros and not usd, so exchange rate to soles was changes based on the company's rate)...ok, but on thr debriefing everyone else paid with card (!!!). I mean we just felt stupid... We didnt get the room that was on the photos, room for us was on the first floor with the bathroom in the ground floor - reaaaally uncomfortable to do this without electricity, whixh you dont have after 9 pm and when we went on early mornijg hike - we also did everything in a complete darkness. I dont expect 24/7h electricity in the jungle, I hope that we get the room that was advertised and on which we agreed upon. But that unfortunately didnt happen. Eventhough all other couples got the right lodges, we were told that those other ones (our lodges) are for couples only. (I mean also the moment when we felt stupid). Our tour guide Edwin is a very ambitious guide, he wanted us to see ALL. And we did , on the first day. No other group saw so much animals as we did...but at what cost? I didnt come to break my bokes RUNNING through muddy uneven terrain to see an animal. For me is thr experience just to be there. The first day was avsolutely exhausting and was not according to the plan we were out from 5 am until 9 pm with 30 min lunch break. Edwin is really fast, so he was always 50-100 m ahead, and just as we catch a glimpse of him he was going away again. On one hike 50% of the time he wasnt even on the horizon so we did it on our own. When we talked to him about it, he apologizes formally and did the same thing on the next hike. Because it was absolutely exhausting for us to continue in that pace, we decided to shorten the tour from 4D/3N to 3 days and go back with another group. All in all, the experience of being in the jungle and the rainforest is really great, maybe this company needs to fix some bugs within itself and then it would be perfect.
absolutely amazing experience. We had never done anything like this before so was a little nervous, but there was no need. The food was amazing, the cabins were as good as can be expected, the jungle hikes, boat trips, look out spots all amazing. Best of all was our guide Symond, incredibly knowledgeable, eye of a hawk and very friendly
Our three-day trip was absolutely amazing!! We had the best time in Manu National Park. We saw many animals (e.g snakes, capibara, birds, spiders, parrots etc.), we ate great food (the best in Peru so far!!!), and our tour guide David was so sweet. He explained everything to us and aldo he took his time to made sure everybody was able to watch the animals through his observatory device. We recommend doing an Amazon Trip Peru Tour! Soooo great!!
I would consider myself a picky eater and somewhat “stuck up” so I was worried about the food, accommodation and dangers in the jungle but the chef was great and made delicious and varied food for every meal. There was always pasta or potato based dishes for us picky eaters and the soups were amazing. The first accommodation was basic but got a good night sleep and hot shower with electric all night. The second accommodation was beautiful, modern huts surrounded by a forest area. They only have electric for 2 hours so make sure to charge your stuff when you can. Having a cold shower was a bit harsh but a very small price to pay to experience the Amazon. I’ll never forget falling asleep with the beautiful sounds of the Amazon southing me. Our guide Simon made us feel very safe on all excursions and was very knowledgeable about the animals, insects, plants, trees and people of the Amazon. He was always welcome to questions about the trip as well as his personal life. I learned so much about the Amazon and culture from him. We captured some great photos of birds, monkeys, capybaras and insects with his expertise and equipment. Aside from Simon’s wealth of knowledge, I found he to be a very friendly, kind person who cares for the environment around him and made us feel incredibly comfortable. This was an adventure of a lifetime for me which I would recommend to anyone who wants to see the true beauty of the world.
We did the 3 day tour with David as our tour guide. He was very kind and able to answer all our questions. We could see his passion for natur and the rainforest. He carefully selected a route through the jungle to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible on our tour. We always felt safe around him and the rest of the group. They brought their own chef, who made us the most amazing feasts three times a day. The lodges we stayed at were basic but comfortable. We can only recommend doing this tour.
We loved our Manu tour with Amazon Trip Peru. David was an amazing guide; so knowledgeable and his love for nature was so evident. We got to see so many different types of birds (macaws, toucan, hummingbirds etc), capybara, cayman, and different types of monkeys. The food was delicious and there was ample relaxation time given as well which I appreciated. Facilities were decent given that we were in the middle of the jungle! Overall, good value for money and many memories made - thank you Percy, David and the team.
We just got back from the 4d/3n tour in Manu and had a fantastic time. First, we traveled with our 5 year old son and prior to leaving for Peru I contacted Percy via WhatsApp to confirm they would have a life vest and rubber boots that could fit our son (otherwise I’d try to pack them). He quickly responded and reassured me they had sizes that would fit him, which was wonderful as the rubber boots are a must for the muddy trails. Our guide Saulo grew up in the jungle and was very knowledgeable and quick to point out various wildlife. After hearing toucans he quickly had them in focus via his scope though they were hundreds of meters away. He was patient and playful with our son who was said to say goodbye to his new friend. Rosalio the chef prepared delicious, beautiful meals and kept us well fed. We were lucky to see a speckled bear our first day. If you want to see all the animals who call Manu home you should probably book a longer tour and pack some patience. If you are someone who will find awe in whatever the jungle reveals to you then you will have a great time on this tour!
