Reiseverlauf

Great place. Wonderfull bikes just on the go. All set and ready. Got all the needed equipment with me in case off a problem. I've been here now 4 times during my stay. Good quality for the money you pay. Keep going!
Very friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff Bikes in excellent condition
We hired a couple of e-bikes as we wanted to see as much of Manly as possible whilst there. The whole experience was first class. We were really impressed that that they had arranged for preloaded Google maps to be organised so we could simply use their QR code to direct us to each location whilst riding. E-bikes are a good idea as there are some steep hikes. The quality of the bikes was excellent too.
Manly Bikes: A Straightforward and Enjoyable E-Bike Rental Experience Reason for Choosing Manly Bikes I chose Manly Bikes because the shop is located just a short walk from the Manly ferry terminal, making it the most convenient option for a quick e-bike rental on my day trip. On April 4, 2026, I rented two electric bikes for a two-hour window from 3-5 pm to explore Manly's coastal scenery without worrying about parking or timetables. Booking and Pricing The reservation was made through the business website. The process was simple and the price I paid matched exactly what had been quoted online. There were no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons, and the billing was handled smoothly. Even the tiny one-cent hold placed on my card for insurance was refunded promptly after the rental, which reinforced the impression of fair dealing. Arrival and Check-in When we arrived at around 3 pm, the check-in process was quick and efficient. A friendly younger attendant greeted us. His relaxed, casual manner put us at ease, and he was clearly aware of our tight time window. He confirmed the rental period without any pressure or unnecessary delays, getting us on the bikes as soon as possible. Staff Behaviour and Communication Communication before and during the rental was excellent. The staff member understood our schedule perfectly and adapted the service to match it. He provided clear instructions without overcomplicating things. Despite light rain falling as we prepared to leave, he took the time to explain how to operate the bikes safely in wet conditions and sent us off with confidence. The entire interaction felt professional yet friendly—exactly what you want from a beachside rental shop. Bike Quality and Riding Experience The bikes we rented were Velectrix step-through e-bikes. They were easy to operate, even for casual riders, and the electric assist was smooth and responsive. The bikes were comfortable and fun to ride, handling the route up to Sydney Harbour National Park and North Head without any mechanical issues. Even with the rain, we managed to stop for photos and enjoy the spectacular views. The bikes appeared well maintained, and there were no service failures of any kind. How Problems Were Handled There were no problems to report with the business, the bikes, or the service. The only minor challenge was the weather, but the staff addressed it proactively by giving us clear, practical advice before departure. They could not control the rain, but they made sure we were prepared to deal with it. No delays, no confusion about the booking, no unexpected charges, and no damage occurred. Value for Money Given the accurate pricing, the quality of the bikes, the smooth booking and check-in, and the friendly, no-nonsense service, I felt the rental offered excellent value. The only thing I would change is the length of the booking. Two hours is enough to cover the key sights, but it is not quite enough time to relax, take frequent stops, and truly soak in the scenery. Next time I would book for three or four hours. Observed Practices and Tips for Future Customers A few practical observations: Plan for more than two hours if you want to enjoy the views without rushing. The location near the ferry terminal is ideal for anyone arriving by boat and wanting to start riding immediately. The staff are efficient and comfortable working with customers on tight schedules, which helps if you need to catch a return ferry. The bikes are step-through city e-bikes, comfortable and easy to use rather than high-performance road machines, so they suit most riders well. Final Recommendation Based on my experience on April 4, 2026, I would absolutely use Manly Bikes again and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a hassle-free e-bike rental in Manly. Everything from booking to return was smooth, honest, and genuinely pleasant. Who Should Use This Business Manly Bikes is a great fit for: Visitors arriving by ferry who want a convenient, walk-off-and-ride rental near the terminal. Riders looking for comfortable, easy-to-operate step-through e-bikes that handle hills with electric assist. Mixed-fitness groups, families with adult children, or solo travellers who want to cover ground without exhausting themselves. Anyone who appreciates clear, upfront pricing with no hidden charges. Who Might Want to Look Elsewhere Hardcore cyclists seeking high-performance road bikes or rugged mountain bikes may prefer a specialist shop. Travellers who are not comfortable riding in light rain or on damp paths might want to consider other activities if the forecast is poor, though the staff handle wet conditions well. People who need a very short, tightly timed rental of under two hours should skip North Head or plan a shorter route. What to Watch Out For Book online in advance. Give yourself at least three hours for a relaxed ride to Sydney Harbour National Park and North Head. Two hours works for a quick visit, but it can feel rushed if you want to stop frequently and take photos. Check the weather forecast and bring a light waterproof layer. The bikes and the staff can cope with rain, but you will enjoy the ride more if you dress for the conditions. If you are new to e-bikes, ask for a quick demo before leaving. The staff are happy to explain the controls and will make sure you are comfortable. --- Produced by WaxFrame v3.47.0 Pro in 5 rounds and 13 minutes. weirdave.github.io/WaxFrame-Professional
The Manly bike shop was great. The staff was very helpful and provided excellent guidance. Unless you are an avid cyclists get the e-bike. Luckily for us the shop let us upgrade based on their recommendation. It is only a few dollars more and will be super helpful on some of the hills you encounter. So many great sights to see in Manly.
Easy checkin. Good advice on local rides. Well maintained and user friendly ebike
The staff was super friendly and put us in the perfect rental bikes for what we wanted to do. The e bikes were in great condition and worked flawlessly.
I had a great experience, my wife didn't like the hills. But the bikes were excellent and the service personnel were great. My 20 year old daughter used regular bikes, my wife was on an e-bike. There were 1-2 places that i had to walk the bike it was so steep but it wasnt bad. The view of the entrance into Sydney Harbor which is in the National Park was beautiful. That was the only place we rode to.
Decided to rent e-bikes for the day, so just showed up at the shop when they opened. We were on our way within about 20 minutes. Rode all over Manly- the North Head and to Little Manly beach, then Tania Park and back to the bike shop.
Excellent customer service and great well maintained bike.
