Machen Sie eine 2–3-stündige Kajak- und Kanutour durch den historischen Manchac-Sumpf. Ein lokaler Naturforscher aus Louisiana führt Sie durch den historischen Manchac-Sumpf und erklärt Ihnen historische Informationen und das einheimische Ökosystem. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Abholzeiten 9.00 Uhr und 12.00 Uhr sind, eine Stunde vor Beginn der Tour. Bitte lesen Sie das Ticket nach der Buchung.

Sie können am historischen St. Roch Market gleich außerhalb des French Quarter abgeholt werden oder die kurze 30-minütige Fahrt zum Tourort selbst fahren. Die Gruppe trifft sich am Ausgangspunkt der Tour und es wird ein Einführungsvortrag zum Kajakfahren im Sumpf gehalten. Anschließend steigen Sie in Ihr Kajak und folgen Ihrem Guide durch den malerischen Manchac Swamp, einen langsam fließenden Bayou, in dem einst die zerstörte Geisterstadt Ruddock in LA lag und der als Durchgang für historische Entdecker aus New Orleans diente; Iberville, Biennville und mehr. Unterwegs werden Stopps eingelegt und Ihr Guide wird Ihnen die Geschichte und Tierwelt des Sumpfes beibringen. Die Tour dauert je nach Kajakerfahrung der Gruppe zwischen 2 und 3 Stunden. Nach der Rückkehr zum Startplatz werden Sie mit dem Rest der Gruppe zurück in die Stadt gebracht. Wenn Sie selbst fahren, können Sie losfahren, sobald Sie zum Startplatz zurückkehren.

Kayaking on Manchac is magical. The calm of the water, the quiet of the surroundings, watching wildlife in its element was a treasure. We had a smaller alligator within about 2-3 feet from our canoes, completely unfazed by our presence. Our guide, AJ, was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive throughout our tour. It was nice to step away from the bustle of the city and surround ourselves in the wetlands.
The guide was very knowledgeable, we learned so much. The day was a very fun adventure. I would recommend.
Absolutely beautiful day on the bayou, with AJ who was an awesome experienced and local guide. He spotted many gators and birds and plants for us, and shared so much information on the local history. Highly recommend!
Quiet walk with layas in the swamp. The truth being so “intimate”, meaning small boats, we thought it would be more entertaining. We only got to see two lizards and nothing else. They didn't give us much information during the experience either.
We had a great trip with our guide, AJ, who gave us an insightful and entertaining tour, especially in the narrow channel through the forest. Lots of birds and wildlife. Highly recommend.
Gerald was an amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and also local so knew all the lore and ghost stories of the Louisiana Bayou.

Odd leaving a review because we got thunder/lightening stormed out and it was cancelled. I can not say enough about the communication and thought for our wellbeing that went into the decision to cancel. I highly respect the people running this tour. Our money was returned within an hour. We will try again next time in NOLA.
