Ein erfahrener und hoch angesehener lokaler Reiseleiter wird auf Ihrer 5-stündigen Tour durch die malerischen Straßen und Seitenstraßen der wunderschönen Magnetic Island freundliche, unterhaltsame Kommentare zu Hunderten von Themen geben, die Vögel und Wildtiere, Bäume, Geologie, Geschichte und Folklore abdecken. Wenn Sie das Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal verlassen, besuchen Sie alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten, darunter ein oder zwei geheime Orte, von denen einige Einheimische nicht einmal wissen. Wir beenden mit einer Stunde Freizeit in Horseshoe Bay zum Mittagessen.

Nach dem Einsteigen in den Bus am Nelly Bay Terminal treffen Sie Ihren freundlichen lokalen Guide, der Sie den ganzen Tag über begleitet. Unsere Guides sind alle Einheimische und haben ein tiefes Wissen über das Leben auf der Insel. Nach einer kurzen Einführung machen Sie sich auf den Weg durch Nelly Bay zur Westseite der Insel. Unterwegs erhalten Sie Hintergrundinformationen über die Insel und eine Einführung in die Geographie und Fauna.
Dienstags und von Australien bis Ostern geschlossen. Das in der denkmalgeschützten Picnic Bay School und der historischen Butler Hut untergebrachte Zentrum betreibt ein Museum und verkauft lokal hergestellte handwerkliche und historische Veröffentlichungen. Das Museum zeigt die Geschichte der Insel durch Dauerausstellungen und wechselnde jährliche Ausstellungen.
Optional können Sie anhalten, um die Geschichte zu entdecken und zu erfahren, wie sie vor dem Abriss bewahrt wurde, und die wunderschöne Umgebung genießen
Kein Besuch im Maggie wäre komplett ohne einen Zwischenstopp in Geoffrey Bay, um zu sehen, ob Sie einige unserer äußerst süßen Allied Rock Wallabies finden. Diese Wallabys gibt es nur im Norden Queenslands zwischen Townsville und dem Burdekin River. Geoffrey Bay ist auch eine Gelegenheit, aus dem Bus auszusteigen und unsere unglaublichen Felsformationen hautnah zu erleben.
Während der Bus den langen, steilen Hügel in Richtung Horseshoe Bay hinaufsteigt, genießen Sie atemberaubende Ausblicke über die Insel. Anschließend geht es auf der anderen Seite hinunter in das alte Bauernviertel, bevor wir eine Stunde Freizeit in Horseshoe Bay einlegen, wo eine große Auswahl an Speisen erhältlich ist. Im Winter, wenn die Schmetterlinge in der Nähe sind, werden wir auf jeden Fall den Schmetterlingswald für einen kurzen Buschspaziergang besuchen. Es ist ein Erlebnis, das man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte und ein toller Balsam für die Seele. Horseshoe Bay bietet auch das ganze Jahr über Bademöglichkeiten, wobei in den Sommermonaten ein sicheres Schwimmgehege vorhanden ist. Ein ausgezeichneter Ort zum Abkühlen, wenn Sie Ihre Schwimmer mitbringen.
Nach dem Mittagessen kehren Sie zur Fähre zurück und haben die Möglichkeit, diese unglaublichen Ausblicke noch einmal zu genießen. Dieses Mal werden wir uns auf den Weg durch Arcadia machen, die hübsche Hayles Avenue entlang und einen kurzen Halt im Aquasearch Aquarium einlegen ($ 3 Eintritt, nur Barzahlung), wo wir versuchen, Nemo und Dory zu finden und uns über unsere Riesenmuscheln zu unterhalten, bevor wir zurückkehren pünktlich um 15 Uhr zum Fährterminal nach Townsville.

An excellent tour to gain an overall view of Magnetic Is. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw many things we would not have known about if doing a DIY explore. Travel from Townsville very easy with the SeaLink ferry , and the tour better value than taking our own car or hiring on Magnetic.

A great intro to Magnetic Island covering the geography, the history, the flora and the fauna. And a very knowledgeable guide who clearly loves his island. Definitely recommend it!

What a fantastic day! Can highly recommended this day tour. Worth every cent. We had been to the island before many years ago but just explored it ourselves. This time, on the tour, we learnt SO MUCH we would not have known otherwise. Our guide Neil knew all the cool places to go to see the local wildlife and we saw a koala, turtle, osprey, heaps of rock wallabies and did a few cool walks to hidden gems like a butterfly forest. Even morning tea is provided. Thanks for a magical Maggie experience!

Excellent tour-driver was so knowledgeable,very humorous Best tour I've had The island was magical Rock wallabies gorgeous and friendly Even got to see the Koala hospital and see all the great work that they do Would go back in a heartbeat
Great tour. There was a small group of us and it was very informal and casual which makes it feel more like you have a private tour.
We took two different ferry rides (one takes 15-20 minutes and the other about 30) to get there and then later back based on timing. It was easy to get a ticket in person on both ends even with a holiday week. We were greeted by the owner of the company who has an interesting and worldly background which brings a lot to his tours. He lives on Magnetic Island and provided a wealth of history and information throughout the day. He seems to know every person in town and their stories as well and took our group to get up close and personal to key places for great photos. We were brought into a cute area with several lunch options which provided something for everyone and an opportunity to walk around afterwards. He got us back exactly when he said he would so we could catch our ferry. We took over 500 photos - so lots to see even on a small island!
