Maglić – Erklimmen Sie den höchsten Gipfel Bosniens

Beschreibung

We had the absolute privilege of having Kenan as our guide while climbing Bosnia’s highest peak. The hike was nothing short of magical – a proper round tour where we not only conquered the mountain but also got a masterclass in both history and Kenan’s very personal opinions. Honestly, it was impossible not to be impressed (and occasionally amused). But of course, one hike wasn’t enough. Oh no. We decided it would be a great idea to follow him onto the Ridges of Visočica. Because clearly our legs were crying out for more punishment. And yet again, Kenan delivered — mixing personal opinions, historical facts, and that annoyingly infectious pride he has for his country. The real disappointment? That we didn’t stumble across Kenan and his company sooner. Imagine how many more mountains we could have wheezed our way up under his ever-enthusiastic guidance. Truly heartbreaking. So yes, thank you Kenan, for showing us your Bosnia — a place you’re rightly proud of, and one we’ll now forever associate with sore calves, breathtaking views, and the guide we wish we’d met earlier.
It’s not an easy hike but totally worth it. Our guide Kenan took care of everything: food, poles, helmets and ferrata set, explained us how to do it safely so it was not scary at all. The views were magnificent and we had plenty of time to enjoy them.
I participated in two hikes with Highlander Adventures - a solo hike with Kenan in Maglic and a group hike with Kenan in Prenj. It was an experience of a lifetime. Maglic and Prenj were both breathtaking hikes. The views and environment are unmatched. Kenan is extremely personable and friendly. He is highly knowledgeable of the landscapes, biodiversity and related history. He was well-prepared and made sure we maintained a productive yet manageable pace and brought plenty of snacks and food. Kenan was an outstanding guide and host. Will definitely be back!
We had our tour with Kenan, and it was unforgettable. As both a mountain lover and a passionate storyteller, he showed us the most beautiful mountains and views, along with the fascinating history behind them. It wasn’t just a hike – it was a true experience, tailored perfectly to us. During our short breaks, he would suddenly stop, point out a plant or berry, and effortlessly pick something edible from the wild – turning every pause into a little discovery. I also learned a lot about Bosnia’s unique berries and plants, which made the journey even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for more than just an ordinary walk and want an exciting adventure with a fun and knowledgeable professional, Highlander Adventures is the perfect choice!
Went with Kenan and I'm impressed by his passion and knowledge on Bosnia and the surrounding mountains. He adjusted the route and itinerary based on my preferences and made sure to make me feel safe throughout the hike. Highly recommend and will for sure come back.
It was an amazing experience. Our guide Kenan was fantastic. He picked us up from Mostar at an affordable cost and was very kind throughout the trip. The pacing was great, and we had plenty of time for breaks and to take pictures. Kenan is very knowledgeable about the terrain and the history of the land. Kenan provided lunch for us and a goodie bag with all sorts of chocolates and energy bars. We strongly recommend him for all your hiking needs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An incredible expedition with the best guide Kenane. Thank you for all this story and this incredible discovery.
An incredible experience!! Simply breathtaking scenery. Bosnia is spectacular! Excellent guide; extremely experienced, knowledgeable and passionate. Distinctively organised trip. Highly recommend. Thank you!!
This was the last of a series of hiking trips I did with Highlander Adventures. All of them were outstanding and memorable - Bosnia is a truly stunning country and you couldn’t have a better guide than Kenan. Not only does he have a native-speaker level of English, but he also possesses a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for both mountaineering and his country. He doesn’t rush the hikes, so I never felt exhausted (I have a tendency to hike at speed and my biggest takeaway from these trips is that you can accomplish far more by maintaining a steady pace). Kenan also has a talent for storytelling, which adds another element to the hikes - I came away having learned a lot about local history and folklore. The Maglić hike was definitely a highlight - it’s a long day, but the hike isn’t overly demanding and you are rewarded with breath-taking views from the summit (it’s worth the trip just for the view down to the beautiful heart-shaped lake below). Although it isn’t a technical hike, I’m glad to have gone with an experienced guide - not only was it helpful for transport and navigation, but conditions can quickly change and the area is remote, so it is reassuring to be with someone trained in mountain rescue. I couldn’t recommend these guys enough! If you’re interested in a multi-day trip, Prenj (where Kenan is part of the local mountaineering club) is another unmissable area!
