Unsere Tour beginnt mit einem Besuch in Cholula, das aufgrund seines historischen und kulturellen Reichtums als magische Stadt bekannt ist. Wir werden die Große Pyramide von Cholula besichtigen, deren Grundfläche nach Volumen die größte der Welt ist. Ganz oben befindet sich das Heiligtum Unserer Lieben Frau der Heilmittel, ein Tempel aus dem 16. Jahrhundert mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf das Tal. Anschließend fahren wir zum Ex Convento de San Gabriel, einem der ältesten Franziskanerkomplexe Mexikos, der im 16. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde. Es zeichnet sich durch seine schlichte Architektur und seine große, offene Kapelle aus, die eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Evangelisierung der Region spielte. Wir setzen unseren Weg auf der Plaza de la Concordia fort, dem Herzen der Stadt, umgeben von traditionellen Arkaden. Zum Abschluss besuchen wir die Kirche Santa María Tonantzintla, die für ihr barockes Interieur im indigenen Stil aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert berühmt ist und ein Beispiel für den Synkretismus zwischen indigener Tradition und katholischem Glauben darstellt.
Wir begeben uns in die Zauberstadt Atlixco, eine Stadt mit vorhispanischen Wurzeln, die während der Kolonialzeit aufgrund ihrer landwirtschaftlichen und textilen Produktion von großer Bedeutung war. Dank seines privilegierten Klimas und seiner farbenprächtigen Baumschulen ist es heute als „Atlixco der Blumen“ bekannt. Unser erster Halt wird der Aussichtspunkt Cerro de San Miguel sein, ein symbolträchtiger Ort, der von der dem Erzengel Michael geweihten Kapelle aus dem 16. Jahrhundert gekrönt wird. Dieser Hügel war ein altes Zeremonialzentrum und ist heute einer der repräsentativsten Punkte der Stadt. Vom Gipfel aus genießt man spektakuläre Ausblicke und kann unglaubliche Fotos machen, wobei die Vulkane Popocatépetl und Iztaccíhuatl eine majestätische Kulisse bilden.
An unserem dritten und letzten Halt werden wir das Ex Convento del Carmen besichtigen, das 1608 von Franziskanern am Fuße des Cerro de San Miguel gegründet wurde. Die Kirche ist der Jungfrau von Carmen geweiht und ein historisches und religiöses Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Beim Abstieg sehen wir die traditionelle breite Treppe, deren Stufen mit Wandmalereien des einheimischen Künstlers Juan Manuel Martínez Caltenco verziert wurden, die florale Motive zeigen, welche die Identität von Atlixco repräsentieren. Anschließend machen wir Halt im Ximitl Ice Cream Shop, um saisonale, handwerklich hergestellte Eissorten zu probieren. Wir setzen unseren Weg entlang der Calle de las Flores in Richtung Zócalo fort, um den mit Mosaiken verzierten Atlixco-Kiosk und die Pfarrkirche Santa María de la Natividad aus dem 17. Jahrhundert zu bewundern, bevor wir mit den Wandmalereien des Rathauses abschließen.

We were expecting a more walking tour of the cities but it was still ok going solo on our own. We booked a Spanish tour by error so we had to wing it. It’s was a few churches visit and shopping area like a Mercado mainly for the tour in both cities visited.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. We appreciated the flexibility that Pablo showed us in taking us to visit some of the places that we requested, both in Cholula and Atlixco. The van was clean and the driver went out of his way to drop us off at home. Both destinations are a must for anyone new to the Puebla area. So much history in Cholula and Atlixco is one of the most charming Pueblo Magico cities that we've seen in Mexico This was my second trip with Bufon Tours and they are a first class company...well organized, reasonably priced, and flexible

The guide very professional, friendly and nice. The tour was scheduled for 9:00, which changed to 10:00, so we had no problem, thinking that the estimated tour time would be covered. I missed the visit to the nursery and the lunch time in Atlixco, from the visit to the nursery, told us that there was no longer time, our mistake was not to require him to take us. of the lunch time I do not even mention it, I only recommend a restaurant, in case we were interested in returning later. The tour ended at approximately 2:30.
