Das Tal der Könige am Westufer der Stadt Luxor ist ein Tal in Ägypten, in dem über einen Zeitraum von fast 500 Jahren, vom 16. bis zum 11. Jahrhundert v. Chr., Felsengräber für die Pharaonen und mächtigen Adligen ausgegraben wurden Neues Reich
Der Totentempel der Königin Hatschepsut, der während der Herrschaft des Pharaos Hatschepsut aus der achtzehnten Dynastie Ägyptens erbaut wurde. Am Westufer von Luxor gegenüber der Stadt Luxor gelegen, gilt es als Meisterwerk antiker Architektur.
Die Kolosse von Memnon sind zwei massive Steinstatuen des Pharaos Amenhotep III, die vor dem zerstörten Totentempel von Amenhotep III stehen, Die beiden Status stehen als Wächter des Tals der Könige, Königinnen und Adligen
Der Karnak-Tempel stammt aus der Zeit um 2055 v. Chr. bis etwa 100 n. Chr. Er wurde als Kulttempel errichtet und den Göttern Amun, Mut und Khonsu geweiht. Als größtes Gebäude für religiöse Zwecke, das jemals gebaut wurde, war der Karnak-Tempel den alten Ägyptern als „auserlesenster Ort“ bekannt. Amun Auch bekannt als Amon, Ammon und Amen, war Amun der ägyptische Gott der Sonne und der Luft. Amun gilt als einer der wichtigsten Götter und ist die altägyptische Zivilisation zu Beginn des Aufstiegs des Neuen Reiches von 1570 bis 1069 v. Mut Auch bekannt als Maut und Mout, war Mut eine Göttin, die von den alten Ägyptern verehrt wurde. Die Bedeutung ihres Namens ist „Mutter“ und daher war sie als Muttergöttin bekannt. Für einige war sie als Mutter von allem auf der Welt bekannt, und für andere erkannten sie sie als die Mutter des Mondkindgottes Khonsu. Chonsu Bekannt als der Sohn der Göttin Mut, war Khonsu der altägyptische Gott des Mondes. Die Bedeutung seines Namens ist „Reisender“.

Terrible - they cancelled without telling me, I had to contact them to confirm that the tour wasn’t going to take place. No apology either, extremely disappointing

The entire day was amazing both Khalid and the driver were fantastic. We saw everything we wanted to see, the Valley of Kings, Karnak temple (the best), banana island and more. Being picked up and dropped off at the airport was really easy, and the visits to the cultural attractions like the spice market (also amazing) made it a really good day!

Got to see the highlights of Luxor in air conditioned car, which is very much needed in the summer. The guide, Khaled El Saady, was mindful of breaks and were always in air conditioned area of the sights. I enjoyed my time and was happy to see so many temples in a short amount if time. Khaled is an experienced Egyptologist and was great to learn about the history at each temple. The driver, Hgag, was very friendly and always picking us up on time.

This was by far one of the best tours we have taken while in Cairo Our guide, Amin Haggag has vast knowledge of history and pointed out other treasures we weren't expecting to see during our journey Extremely personable with a good sense of humor

I have booked numerous tours through Viator and this was the first one I had to reach out to the tour guide to confirm my tour. I sent a messages to the tour company 24 hours prior to our trip since I had not heard from them. The response I received was that I would receive my confirmation later in the day. This was a bit stressful since it entails booking flights from Cairo to Luxor and then back to Cairo, not knowing our flight itinerary was concerning. I eventually received my flight confirmation. Once we arrived to Luxor the tour guide had my name in small print, it was not easy to spot who was my tour guide as I had to approach the tour guides up close to find my tour guide. We went to all of the sites the tour entails but our tour guide would only spend 10-15 minutes with us and then it was free time. At one of the sites the tour guide didn’t bother to get off the car and basically said you have 5 minutes to take pictures - I saw other guides get off and take pictures of their group. This was disappointing as we had to ask random people to take pictures of us. And of course, the guide indicated we had extra time and offered 2 options which entailed more money. We ended up doing one of them although it felt like it was a rip off but I figured a review ends up doing more damage than the extra money made. Would I recommend this tour again ? I would definitely recommend it but not with this tour guide. Keep in mind , the tour guide does not like to use WhatsApp which is unusual since all of the tours I have done I always communicate through WhatsApp and they respond within the hour. My recommendation to the tour guide is to put himself in the shoes of those who are taking the tour and offer every possible detail , provide excellent customer service and stop with the hidden or extra tour fees. For the money I paid it didn’t feel like I got my monies worth. Having more personality would’ve changed our experience.

Trip was good. I would advise planning this early in your trip so that in case there are problems with the flight, you can figure it out. They worked with us around canceled flights one day and then delayed flights the next. It was frustrating with the many plan changes, but they still made it work and we saw everything described. I would also recommend staying in Luxor for a couple days instead of trying to fit everything in. This was a great experience though. Next time I will be staying in Luxor for a few days and Aswan as well.

This tour was very well organized, we didn't have to worry about anything. Our flights were booked with no problems, we were picked up on time. Our tour guide Ameen was the cherry on top. He was very knowledgeable about everything. He was funny and made everything (there is a lot to see in 1 day) exciting and funny. Him and his driver made this tour absolutely awesome. I would recommend this tour to everyone. I am so glad I booked this tour. Me and my wife will never forget this experience. Thank you Go tours!

Lots to see and experience in one day - worked out well - did not feel rushed. Favorite were the large columns at Karnak temple.
