Es ist eines der größten religiösen Gebäude der Welt. Es besteht aus drei Tempeln, die der Triade von Theben gewidmet sind (ein alter Name für Luxor). Der Haupttempel wurde für den Meistergott Ägyptens Amon-Ra und die anderen für seine Frau Göttin Mut und ihren Sohn Gott Khonsou gebaut. Der Karnak-Tempel begann als kleines Heiligtum für den lokalen Gott Amon in der Zeit des Mittelreichs, als Luxor nur eine gewöhnliche Stadt war, aber zu Beginn des Neuen Königreichs in die Hauptstadt Ägyptens umgewandelt wurde. Sein lokaler Gott Amon wurde zum Meistergott Ägyptens aufgewertet, und so wurde sein Karnak-Tempel über 1500 Jahre erweitert und erweitert, um der größte in Ägypten zu sein. In Karnak-Tempeln sehen Sie die Hypostyle-Halle, die als die größte Säulenhalle der Welt gilt. Sie wurde von König Ramsses II. Und seinem Vater Seti I gegründet. Dann sehen Sie die Obelisken von Königin Hatschepsut und ihrem Vater Tutmosis I und Sie werden auch den wunderschönen heiligen See und die große Käfer-Skarabäus-Statue sehen, die das Symbol des Sonnenkults war.
Etwa drei Kilometer südlich von Karnak befindet sich der Luxor-Tempel. Beide waren durch eine Straße miteinander verbunden, die von einer doppelten Linie von Sphinxen mit menschlichem Kopf flankiert wurde, die als Sphinx Avenue bekannt ist. In letzter Zeit versucht das ägyptische Altertumsministerium, diese Straße wiederzubeleben, die Luxor zum größten offenen Museum der Welt machen soll. Der Luxor-Tempel wurde vom alten ägyptischen König Amenhoteb III. Erbaut und vom Pharao Ramsses II. Vollendet. Dieser Tempel ist ein Zeuge verschiedener Epochen der ägyptischen Geschichte, die während der Gründung des Tempels im alten Ägypten stattfanden. Alexander der Große errichtete zu Beginn der griechisch-römischen Zeit in Ägypten ein Heiligtum zu Ehren von Gott Amon-Ra, um den Ägyptern zu gefallen. Später im frühen Christentum wurde eine christliche Kirche gegründet. Schließlich wurde auf den Ruinen des antiken Tempels eine Moschee errichtet. Dieser Tempel soll mit zwei von König Ramsses II. Erbauten Obelisken geschmückt sein, von denen einer noch immer dort steht, und der andere wurde zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts auf den Concorde-Platz in Paris gebracht.
Im Tal der Könige befinden sich mehr als 70 Gräber, die in der Zeit des neuen Königreichs in den Boden des Berges geschnitten wurden und den berühmten Königen des alten Ägypten gehörten, darunter Ramsses II., König Merenptah, König Tutmosis 1, König Tutmosis III. Und der König Tut Ankh Amon. Hier im Tal der Könige werden Sie von den atemberaubenden farbigen Gemälden begeistert sein, die immer noch aktuell sind. We had an amazing 10 day trip to Egypt, facilitated by Egypt Joy. Our guide, Mahmoud, was the highlight of the experience. As a trained archaeologist, his vast knowledge of the historical/cultural sites of Egypt is nothing short of amazing and impressive. Many random and obscure questions came his way in our time together and Mahmoud always gave thoughtful, thorough replies to our group. He balanced many positive traits in a deft manner: always prepared yet very flexible to the group's wants and needs, professional but fun. In addition, when needed, he served as an effective buffer between our group and the numerous determined vendors, only when needed and in a very respectful, face-saving manner. Mahmoud is absolutely top-notch first rate. The Nile River cruise was another highlight. We were on Le Fayan II and would encourage anyone to select this beautiful ship and its amazing crew. The food was amazing and they serve alcohol (unlike the Hilton Grand Nile, unfortunately). We did a sunrise hot air balloon experience and would encourage this unique way of seeing Luxor. The ballooning outfitters were persistent in their encouragement of us tourists to sing and dance with them and at 5AM for a video that they would subsequently be selling, many of us were not feeling it. Bottom line, our balloon pilot was confident, conscientious and professional and that trumps everything! As with any complex itinerary, there are areas to improve upon. These snags were mostly related to air transfers and were not detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the experience. I am envious of anyone who gets to take a similar tour of Egypt with Mahmoud and travel the Nile on Le Fayan II.....I already want to go back!
We only had one day in Luxor and wanted to see everything, this was the perfect tour, in a comfortable car. Marwa was our guide and she was experienced and knowledgeable. We had a long 8 hour day but so worthwhile, so much to see! Lunch was also really good, a lovely restaurant in a nice setting with nice food.
We had a wonderful and full day with our guide Kareem. Kareem was extremely knowledgeable of the history, he was funny and kind with us as well. The tour itself was very well organized and it was super easy to communicate with the owner on logistics. He was also really flexible with us when we had to make some changes leading up to your trip. Overall, the experience was really well curated and I am really happy we chose Egypt Joy Travel.

Everything was great from booking the tour thought execution. The tour planner catered to everything we wanted to see and gave us many options. We went to Luxor and Cairo, both guides were great! They picked us at the airports in nice comfortable vans, they also dropped us off. They were friendly, organized and punctual. In Cairo they took us all the way into check in and got us to security before leaving us. I would definitely recommend this company. Mahmoud Farah (Luxor guide) and Mohammed Heragi (Cairo guide). Both tours were amazing.
Fantastic insightful tour with Kareem. The perfect balance between hands-on and hands-off to explore. He met us early to avoid the crowds and we were able to see everything we wanted. Have even learnt a hieroglyph or two!!
Starting early from Hurghada (4:30), our driver picked us up perfectly on time and drove us in a safe and comfortable manner to Luxor. Our guide Mahmoud was very knowledgeable about the historic sites in Luxor and there was enough time to adapt the program to our whishes. That's of course a big advantage of a private tour: you are able to skip the standard craftwork shops and make slide changes to the itinerary. Both driver and guide were very friendly guys who really made this trip worth while!
