Ihr Fahrer in Xi'an holt Sie gegen 6:50 Uhr von Ihrer Hotellobby ab und bringt Sie zum Nordbahnhof Xi'an, um den Hochgeschwindigkeitszug G3154 (08:39-10:18) oder einen ähnlichen Zug von Xi'an nach Luoyang zu nehmen (ca. 1,5 Stunden).
Bei Ihrer Ankunft in Luoyang werden Sie am Bahnhof von unserem lokalen Führer und Fahrer abgeholt und zu den Longmen-Grotten gebracht, einem Schatzhaus antiker Steinschnitzkunst, in dem mehr als 100.000 Steinstatuen zwischen 2 und 17,14 Zentimetern ausgestellt sind -meter hoch und erstreckt sich über etwa 1.094 Meter entlang beider Ufer des Yi River. Ungefähr 12 Kilometer von Luoyang entfernt, ist es eine der drei wertvollsten buddhistischen Höhlen- und Felszeichnungen in China (2 Stunden).
Wir machen uns auf den Weg zum berühmten Shaolin-Tempel (ca. 2,5 Stunden Fahrt), der für Shaolin Kung Fu bekannt ist. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, echtes Kung Fu mitzuerleben, das von Shaolin-Mönchen aufgeführt wird. Der Shaolin-Tempel ist nicht nur als einer der wichtigsten buddhistischen Tempel Chinas bekannt, sondern auch als Zentrum des chinesischen Kung Fu. Der Tempel wurde erstmals 495 erbaut und diente hauptsächlich dazu, Batuo, einen berühmten indischen Mönch, zu beherbergen. Jetzt gilt der Shaolin-Tempel als „Tempel Nummer Eins unter dem Himmel“, der 2010 als Teil der „Historischen Denkmäler von Dengfeng“ auch als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gelistet ist. Der Tempel ist die Wiege des chinesischen Zen-Buddhismus und der Shaolin-Kampfkunst.
Nachdem Sie den Shaolin Tempel besucht haben, bringt Sie Ihr Guide zum Luoyang Longmen Bahnhof mit dem Zug G1933 (19:08-20:38) oder einem ähnlichen Zug zurück nach Xi'an (ca. 1,5 Stunden).
Der Fahrer von Xi'an holt Sie am Nordbahnhof von Xi'an ab und bringt Sie zurück zu Ihrem Hotel in Xi'an.

Guide was thorough in explaining the history of Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple. Driver was adept at making adjustments based on road closures. The actual destinations were a bit too commercialised (Shaolin) and crowded (Longmen) for the experience to actually be enjoyable. Would also recommend for the tour to be extended to two days and include a trip up Songshan - seems a bit of a shame to travel all the way to Luoyang and not see that amazing view

Everything was arranged promptly. Agency is very proactive in confirming details prior to the trip. All arrangements were made without much fuss. Train tickets were sent to hotel concierge in advance and explanations and advice were given beforehand on what to expect and bring. Tour guide, Fei, was very attentive and provided us with umbrella and handheld electronic fan as the weather was sweltering hot! Her explanation was detailed too. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time on this excursion from Xi'an. From the start of the day to the finish. Our driver was early to pick us up from the hotel, but was patient and waited while we finished our breakfast. We got to the train station in planet of time and were able to easily navigate our way to the train as a result of the excellent communication and instructions we recieved from China Xi'an Tours local agent Lenna. Thanks to the help of the train conductor, we were able to learn exactly when to get off the train (which was a very pleasant trip travelling at 303km/h!) As we were told, Joe, our local guide, was waiting for us with our name as we exited the train station. Overall, Joe was a spectacular tour guide. He paid attention to what we liked and didn't waste our time on stuff we didn't care about. The drive to the Grottoes was easy. Joe gave us tons of interesting facts. He is very service oriented and took care to ensure our expectations were clear all day. The lunch was very good and quick which is great for us because we didn't want to spend a lot of time eating. After lunch the long drive to Shaolin temple was good and nice time for a nap. Again, Joe was very informative and we enjoyed learning about the awesome history and the origin of Kung Fu. The show at the temple was really entertaining. Joe got us back to the train station with plenty of time. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. Upon our arrival back to Xi'an we found our driver right where Lenna said he would be (complete with pictures!) Again, excellent communication! We think a reminder for folks to have their passports along would be a good idea. We had ours along by sheer luck. The train station attendants on our return trip wanted to see them.

The place is utterly breathtaking! The enormity and the beauty of it is amazing. My husband and I were dumbfounded, looking at all the carvings, small and huge alike. We moved from one grotto to another with renewed sense of admiration and awe. Our guide Lisa was a gem, plenty of background information and history. She was very knowledgeable, witty and funny which made our visit all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend this trip and this company!
