Great trip out from Coimbra. Really interesting countryside, off the beaten track. Shist villages were fascinating. We saw Red Deer and wild boar. Alfredo took us down all sort of tracks and right into the mountain scenery. He was really pleasant and very knowledgeable. We loved it. Great to get into nature for a couple of hours.
Although we did see deer and the guide was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about his job. We paid for a private tour but it was not private. There was another couple with us. The tour guide explained that it meant denying my booking, which doesn't make sense because he still made the booking available even though it had already been booked earlier. The jeep of the guide was not well kept inside, and my seat belt (left back seat) was extremely smelly and smelled of vomit. At the end of the day my neck (which the seat belt rubbed against the whole day) had a rash which lasted several days.
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry the tour did not correspond to your expectations but well, it's difficult to please 100% of our clients, just 99,9% of them. About the 4x4, it's an off road vehicle and it is normal to have some external dirt, nothing more than that. No one else complained, ever. The car interior is cleaned every single day...!
An incredible afternoon seeing the beautiful villages in Lousa and surrounds. It was a difficult day as there were wildfires in Portugal so while we couldn’t access the usual tour sites, I don’t feel like I missed out in any way as Alfredo made sure he gave us the best possible experience - we saw deer too!
Thank you for your nice review. It was very nice to meet you and do this tour with you...!
Our host was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the region and Portugal history generally. He took us ALL OVER the mountains looking for the much elusive deer! We spotted about six, including a very large buck! We got to hike a bit in a beautiful forest as well. And, of course, the tour wouldn’t be complete without the visit to the schist village! Quaint and pretty. I highly recommend this tour BUT be sure that you/your group is prepared for hours of off-roading, dust, and being inside a diesel vehicle for very long stretches of time, and on windy roads! This is rustic….
Thank you for your nice review. It was very nice to meet you and do this tour with you...!
Alfredo is a Pro of a rare human quality. Extremely pleasant trip, wonderful scenery and accurate description of places and full of curiosities. We spotted some deer in their natural habitat and had lunch in the typical village of Talasnico (the chanfana was delicious!). A day to remember, super recommended!
Grazie per la tua buona recensione e raccomandazione, Barbara. È stato fantastico conoscerti e fare questo tour con te e Andrea...! PS - Il nome del villaggio di scisto è Talasnal. Talasnico è il nome del dolce locale.
Fun and exciting. The guide was very experienced in the region and took us to many under the radar locations. Lots of sightseeing and wildlife around the area, which is not crowded with tourists. Lovely restaurant as well. Definetly recommend.
Thank you for your nice review, and recommendation. It was very nice to meet you and do this tour with you...!
Fun day, fabulous guide. I did the full day experience and truly enjoyed it. I thought there would be more hiking, there wasn’t, but good experience going off road. Beautiful views. Enjoyed visiting remote areas I would not have otherwise experienced.
Thank you for your nice review, Amy. It was very nice to meet you and do this tour with you...!
Guide Alfredo can tell about the mountains with a lot of humor and knows how to spot deer. He also has a lot to say about the 'Chist villages' in a tasteful way. Really worth it, especially if you like small scale.
Thank you for your nice review, Petrie. It was very nice to meet you and do this tour with you and Mark...!
Beautiful landscape, super friendly and attentive guide. Surprising to see the shale villages and the deer and wild boar parading around in the open air.
Obrigado pela sua simpática avaliação, Alciênia. Fico feliz que tenha gostado do tour na fantástica Serra da Lousã. Será sempre bem vinda..!
Had a lovely experience in Lousa mount looking for wildlife. Lucky enough to spotted a wild boar with young, a red deer, doe, fawn and bucks. Visited a schist village.
