Noahs ark was not launched here ...There wasn't even 2 of most animals....Absolute Disgrace !!!!!!!!!

2026 and we treat customers like this !!!! I have written lots of reviews on TripAdvisor and I love to shout about brilliant service, however, not on this occasion. Is this some kind of joke to rip people off ? The place is so old and run down I feel sorry for every animal in the place. What was on show....not much ....dirty and very poorly maintained . For our Capital City to have this as a zoological showpiece is an absolute disgrace, tourists must be amazed by our low standards. In my opinion this place should be closed immediately and the animals moved . Most of the cages were empty ...You cannot charge people to see very little. Obviously the Giraffes were great and I must congratulate the Zoo on letting them be visible from outside...people would get the impression that the rest of this place must be as brilliant...brilliant marketing to get people to buy a ticket. Run down, Dirty, Expensive etc etc I would like a full refund ASAP...Dont bother with your generic answer on here... I live near Chester Zoo which is Premier League compared to this place. London Zoo you should be ashamed at this.... This is the worst review I have ever written... I want a full refund !!!!!!

Fantastic Day

Although the weather was very hot there are places to go to cool down. The animals are well cared for with plenty of space. If you want information or directions there are plenty of staff to help. Had a fantastic day. To get from the tube station there is a bus you can get drops near the zoo.

Tiger keeper experience.

What a brilliant experience. We had stayed in the lodge the night before which was also a great experience, so we were on site ready for the day. The excellent Joanna took us from breakfast to meet Rachel who was to be our host and guide. Rachel was fabulous from the off. There we just four of us and she kept us informed of all things about the zoo and what was going on as we walked to the tiger enclosure. After a safety briefing we spoke to Rachel about conservation and some of the awful trade in Tiger and other animals as well as medicines and traditional medicine. We then created some rather strong smelling paste using spices to put on the enrichment toys that we wouldlater see them play with in the enclosure. We then went behind the scenes to see the Tigers. The out of sight parts are immaculately kept, we had to go through a foot wash for our shoes as the animals welfare is paramount and that comes across in everything they were doing. There were two of the three Tigers inside. They were both in separate areas and eating. We were close but not enough to bother them, we all asked some questions and spoke while they ate which was really enlightening. We ran through another safely briefing as we were going to feed Geysha, the female tiger. We each took a turn to use the tongs with some meat to firstly feed her low down and then to make her stretch up which isn't for our benefit but hers. Then John and Re her keepers went through some training exercises and then she was let out. Then Asim the male came into that enclosure where John and Re went through some training exercises again with him and he was let out. We chatted more to John and Re then went outside to the enclosure where they had set up breakfast for Crispin the 3rd Tiger. When we were in place Rachel radio'd to John to let Crispin out who came for his breakfast in the tree which was unbelievable to see so close up. Would thoroughly recommend this experience. All 3 of John,Re and Rachel were so knowledgeable, so easy to talk to and really love what they do. The only thing I would say, but I understand why not, but you cant take photos in the behind the scenes area as it would have been nice to record that part but it wasnt an issue.

Beautiful zoo

Lovely zoo with lots of different animals. Big park with lots of trees. We went during the heatwave so the animals weren’t very active which we expected and didn’t blame them! I don’t agree with some of the other reviews about the enclosures, most of them had plenty of space to get away from visitors and looked very well cared for. Nice restaurant as well which was nice and cool and not too busy at lunchtime

Excellent Feed the Meerkats Experience

Excellent time, my child had asked for "feeding the Meerkats" for her birthday present. Lucy and Gary were brilliant, very knowledgeable and my child had a lovely time (as did I, because under 14 need an adult accompanying). The zoo itself is good, with some areas really good. The Butterfly Pavilion, the Reptiles and Amphibians, and the walk through of tropical birds are all standouts. Would also say that the food at the Terrace Restaurant is excellent, well priced, good ingredients.

Ignore the bad reviews, read this one!

It's a typical zoo, big, lots of various animals, animals seemed well looked after, lots to see and do, you can download an app to find out when the talks are on etc but we didn't bother, we arrived around 12, left at 4 due to other travel arrangements, we only missed out a few animals but didn't really give ourselves time to sit down mind which is needed- especially as it was a hot day! The food was typically fast food, pizza, hot dogs, fish coujons or chicken strips with chips, they did also have salad but who gets that! It was all lovely typical prices, we got 4 children's meals which was more than enough food 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters, costing about £40 with drinks. Ice creams we're typical prices, just over £10 for 4 ice creams. The gift shop again is what you would expect in a zoo, lovely gifts, lockers for luggage was great- we had 2 huge suitcases and 2 back packs, so we needed 2 lockers, we also bought gifts at the start so the shop was quiet, but I would have went later if I had known, if you feed the penguins, you get 10% discount off at the shop which I thought was a nice touch! I LOVED feeding the penguins, this was over priced but totally worth every penny! £15 for a cup full of sardine type fish, that you posted down the tubes but it was so much fun, and I would do it again in a heart best! Best animals to see: butterflies, pemguins, otters and squirrel monkeys, (known as in with the monkeys on the map) map was fine to read, plenty of water stations around and shade which we were pleased with as well as seats of you had time to sit down! All in all lovely day, we've seen better zoo's but still loved it! The staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly too.

Wonderful family time

Better than expected. Compact, but plenty to see. Animal habitats were generally spacious and well maintained. The gift shop and food options were the best I’ve ever seen at a zoo. Best of all, we were there on a warm and sunny June day (albeit midweek) and the zoo wasn’t the least bit crowded. Yes, it has pricey entry fee, especially for a family, but I’m happy to support the excellent conservation work of ZSL. Only disappointment for me was the magnificent Snowden Aviary—the monkeys were all indoors. Surely an aviary was a better use of this space?

Wonderful zoo!

Took a very quick trip to the London Zoo on a Saturday morning. I like to try to visit local zoos when I travel. It’s a lovely zoo and a great value. Set in an historic park, I was able to see a bit of the city that I otherwise was not planning to see. The animal habitats are well maintained and there were so many helpful volunteers. I only spent about an hour and a half but was able to see most of the zoo. It looked like there were a lot of good food and drink options. It was worth my time and if you like zoos this one is a gem.

Every zoo I have been to has felt like a visit to 'view' animals in a confined space. London Zoo was different. The best zoo I

It was the most amazing day with memories I will treasure forever.

Animals well cared for but not that many.

Obviously an old zoo. Animals well looked after but I expected to see more of them. Often only one exhibit to see, quite a few empty cages. Sad no elephants. Best thing was the gorillas, good to see a few of these. Sign posting was poor. Not many staff around.

Antwort des Anbieters

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed seeing the gorillas and felt the animals are well cared for. We’re sorry some areas of your visit didn’t meet expectations. We’re continuously improving the zoo, including signage and habitat developments. Some animals may not always be visible as they have access to private spaces for their welfare. We appreciate your comments and will share them with the team as we work to improve the visitor experience.
