Horrible experience. Couldn't hear a thing as we found out they'd done a "school's special" so just about everyone else in the audience was a school child who didn't want to be there. Couldn't actually hear the show and left at the interval. If they are going to invite schools in they should make it schools only and not expect people to pay full price for tickets when they're not going to be able to enjoy the show over the badly behaved children.
It was incredible. The performers were fantastic, and the story captivated me from beginning to end. It was entertaining, and the mix with modern music added a lightness to the whole story that is usually not present in a tragedy. Absolutely recommended!!!!
The music is good, great to have a live band, but the story line is very weak. Very one dimensional and just not very interesting or gripping Sorry would not recommend - plenty of other better productions
Fabulous soul/ blues jazz music and choreography. Hermes is the absolute star of show. Which is why second half isn't quite as good.
Just wonderful. Loved every second of it. Fabulous performances and a standing ovation from the crowd at the end. I cannot understand anyone who didn't love it. Persephone and the Fates were the stand out. Worth knowing the story of Orpheus in the Underworld beforehand, but not essential.
Super evening watching the Hadestown performance. Excellent production with performers and musicians. Deserves plaudits. Saw Hamilton the previous night. Also v good but H'town preferred
People who review this badly, just don't get it. It is totally amazing. Moving, clever, thought provoking. It is worth all it's accolades
I can't understand how this show gets good reviews, its mediocre at best. Yes the singing is good but the characters have monotonous, forced development and it's difficult to connect. I actually fell asleep at one point - that never happens!
We didn't get it! The audience around us loved it, but it didn't draw us in, it seemed very long. The opening song was great, and the number which should have been the end of Act One was good too. Otherwise nah.
Absolutely loved the show - one of my favourite musicals. The cast and vocals were incredible. The only downside was my seat - I was right at the back in the upper circle and couldn’t see anything except a thin strip of the stage. The rest was just the ceiling and people’s heads. Ticket wasn’t too expensive so I didn’t expect a brilliant view but I expected to at least be able to see something. As it was I had to follow the story based on the audio.
